Hello, I also regularly receive this kind of message regarding the PayPal payment method.
There is a website where you can verify and forward the message, and there you learn that it's a fraudulent email.
This site is called spoof....?
As far as I'm concerned, it was indeed a fraudulent email, but my problem now is that my account is blocked, I can no longer use this payment method, and I am still a bit scared to provide bank details after this damn email.

It is indeed too simple.
So use Firefox as your default browser and install the WOT add-on, that way you will even see in your emails that the links are also crap and the texts full of spelling mistakes are just another fairly obvious indication.

NO need to respond to emails to get hacked

On 12/23/08 at 2:00 AM, I realized while checking my emails that Paypal was confirming bank transfers.
Having made no purchases, I looked into it in detail and the horror was discovering that my account had been hacked, password and language changed!!!
In short, the result was 2 transactions on 12/22/08 around 7 PM with a 3-minute interval for a total amount of 979 euros.
I immediately blocked my card, left a message for Paypal, and went to my bank and the police station as soon as they opened.
The result was, luckily, that the credit card is insured and within 15 days, I am refunded. For 2 days, Paypal reassured me that they were taking care of it, and on the third day, when nothing was settled, they had the audacity to send me a satisfaction survey (I can say that they got served!!!)
Now, I am waiting for a response from the police to confirm the identity of my hacker, as Paypal indicates that it is STEVEN BERNET!!!!

With Firefox as your default browser, you would have immediately known that the fake email supposedly from Paypal was a forgery and a successful attempt at extortion in your case, due to carelessness.
Because it's clear that I also receive crap like that and even though I put them in spam every 2 days, they never stop with hotmail.
But not only is there a big red flag on the crappy links, but also clicking on the supposed site, you never get a url (https) ---->>> secured along with a padlock on Firefox in addition to information about the site and not to mention that if you know the IP with this additional extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/590 you can easily see that this address is crappy.
I could go on, because there are plenty of tools available.
This time, you’re getting off easy, but next time, the bank will blow a fuse.

And yes, someone has responded to an email, otherwise, you have a keylogger on your machine and that's no good, so you should probably post a new request on Virus/security I think...

I received this email on Wednesday and I thought, hey, a problem with PayPal ^^ So I clicked on the link (boo, shame on me) but I quickly closed the window when instead of the official PayPal site I saw www.angelamall.com/paypa1/index!!!! And no, there's no risk just by clicking on it!
Like you did, close this email and delete it; in this case, the good thing is that you didn't put in the information it was asking for!

A hacker can access a computer whenever they want and without you seeing it .. . So it has nothing to do with your email ..

And regarding the payments on other sites with your credit card, you should know that there is a risk of hacking with every payment.

In fact, the big problem is not necessarily when you make your purchase.
The big issue is when you unknowingly receive a little program that installs itself on your computer and sends information, such as what you type on your keyboard, including your credit card numbers!

That's also why PayPal exists, because you don't re-enter your card numbers but simply your email address + password.

Summary: You absolutely need to clean your computer well with Adware Se, psybot, anti-trojan, antivirus analysis!

go check on PayPal, there's a specific section for that :)
It's simple, as they say, "every email has your name," so when it says dear PayPal customer, it's definitely fake ^^. I've received more than 30 fake ones -_-'' but hey, you get used to it :p
