Hi Vero, sorry for the late reply but I just had the same problem and spent a lot of time on it because I couldn't find a solution online, so I'll try to be clear and we'll need to get our hands dirty.
Well, for the faded colors, the problem comes from the color profile of the Canon printer.
Actually, by default it's set to "driver matching" and you need to switch it to "ICM," which is a color profile managed by Windows or an application (like Photoshop) and gives very good results (at least for me :)).
To change it, go to the printer settings, in the "main" tab, you have "color/intensity," there, choose "manual" & click on "set," and there, miracle, in color correction you have "driver matching" that you can change. Don't forget to save it in a profile, otherwise you'll find the default settings for the next print.
If you have a problem, check the online help for the printer, everything is explained there... :)

I just received the Canon MP 252 Pixma and I had the same issue, so I did what you just explained, putting it in "correspondence" "ICM" and in input profile "Adobe RGB," and it works very well now! Great!

it's nothing for me SUPER!
