Hello,

I just acquired an MGE Ellipse 800 UPS, but it won't turn on. Only the protected outlet is powered (and not the 3 backup outlets).
No indicator light is on.
The small yellow button at the back (I think it's a circuit breaker) is pressed in. I don't know what position it should be in.
This is not the version with a USB port.

I really need help. I can't find anything on the manufacturer's website (http://www.mgeups.fr)

Thank you in advance,
Chris

I had the same problem with mine: batteries too discharged. You just need to replace them (kit for about €60) and it works like new again. Be careful not to store the inverter unplugged for too long, otherwise, the batteries will be dead!

The little yellow button is indeed a circuit breaker, so it is pushed in for an operational position and pulled out when it has tripped.

Hello everyone!

I got an Ellipse 800 UPS and I have a small problem: not a single light works, nothing turns on.

Only one outlet is powered when the UPS is plugged in, but the protected ones are not.

I disassembled the UPS to check the fuses, I found two fuses that look like the ones found in cars, 40 amps, which seem to be in good condition.
The electrolytic capacitors haven’t leaked, and everything seems “in place.”

I found an internal switch, I don’t know if I should toggle it or not, I reassembled the UPS while leaving it on, I’ll see... (This is not the circuit breaker, which is accessible without disassembling the unit, this is something else.)

I asked one of my acquaintances what I should think about this problem, he told me that if the batteries were dead, there would probably be at least one light that comes on to indicate that the UPS is powered, but that everything wouldn’t be completely down like that... I admit I am surprised that the manufacturer didn’t think to signal a battery problem more explicitly...

I found batteries that I think should be compatible: http://www.all-batteries.fr/batterie-onduleur/mge/pulsar-ellipse-800-usbs-bs-2x-batteries.html

See here, a bit more expensive, but apparently supplied in pairs: http://www.battery-direct.fr/onduleur/Batterie-Ellipse-MGE-EL800.html

Before ordering, I wanted to make sure it is indeed a battery problem when absolutely nothing lights up. Just to avoid wasting 50 euros for nothing... Also, I imagine that the price of a new UPS exceeds the price of a battery kit?

Thank you in advance, and sorry for resurrecting an old topic, I thought it was better than opening a new one...

Rantanplan.
