Hello there :-)
Today I had a power outage and my PC shut down even though I have an UPS (Eaton Ellipse ASR 600) o.O
This isn't the first time it has shut down, but this time I decided to take a closer look at the issue because there's no point in having a UPS if it can't keep my PC running at least long enough for me to shut it down :-P
At first, everything was working well, but I would say it's been over 6 months now that every time there’s a power cut, the UPS turns off.
I don't know if there should be a light that warns me the battery is dead or something, but right now, only the power indicator is lit and it’s green.
Thank you in advance for your help ;-)
Configuration: TOSHIBA Satellite L50-A-1DG
config :
Intel® Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40 / 3.40 Turbo GHz
4.00 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Internet Browser: Mozilla Firefox

Hello,
we can change the battery of these UPS units as long as the electronics are not burnt out. To disassemble the device, refer to the manual (1112 kB) available here:
http://powerquality.eaton.fr/EMEA/Products-services/Backup-Power-UPS/Ellipse-ASR-UPS/Ellipse-ASR-info.asp
Generally, these are 12V 24W lead batteries sold for about €30 to €40.
Now, whether it's worth it is another story...
Best regards :-))

Yes, I find all of that very expensive. Talk about an investment :-/
Especially since power outages don't happen every day...
According to the doc on page 9, the red light 11 blinks when the battery is near the end of its life.
Take apart the asi and measure the voltage at the battery terminals. This way, you'll see if it's dead.
