Hello,
I have an Ellipse 500 inverter from MGE UPS SYSTEMS;
The outputs are working well and are connected to low consumption devices. The device is not hot
Both green indicators are permanently lit and the red indicator is blinking continuously, even when I turn off the device. Everything turns off when I unplug it from the wall socket.
For your information, this device is about fifteen years old

Hi,
Have you already changed the battery?
The problem is most likely due to the end of the battery's life

  It is true that this device is about fifteen years old. I do believe that the battery is dead. I will look into comparing the price of a battery and a new device

A battery is changed approximately every 3 years

  Hello,
  I’m lucky. Having 3 inverters of the same model, and also old, it’s the first one that fails. Maybe it’s because I use them continuously and on devices with low combined consumption. Once a year, I open them up, dust them off, and disassemble and reassemble the terminals. To be honest, my laptop is from 2006 and I often use it for reading or as a typewriter.

    Hi,
    Yes, you are lucky. My battery on an APC also failed after 7 years.
    You also have to consider that as long as you don’t have too many power outages, the batteries aren’t used much.

    Hello,
    Before placing an order, I switched the batteries of my devices. It is indeed the battery that is causing the issue. This battery model is quite common, of course with different brands like CSB, Panasonic, and Yuasa, and the prices range from €31 to €22 with or without shipping. I prefer to go through a well-known agency, it's simpler in case of warranty than over the internet. Internet delivery time is 2 to 3 days, one week through an agency.
