Wi-Fi activation on a HP Solved/Closed

Question

Hello saviors,today I need to know how to activate my wireless local network on a brand new HP. My assistant tells me to enable it in the device manager, but I can't find anything that mentions Wi-Fi or wireless network in that manager..  Thanks;)

Because if you have a live box, the process is simpler.

Then I am (pretty much) SURE I have Wi-Fi: not only do I have my little Wi-Fi button next to the power button, but also my 'antenna' icon says: wireless network disabled and when I click on it, it takes me to the Windows device manager to activate it..

You need to understand that Wi-Fi allows you to connect to the Internet using radio waves, which is quite different from a modem connection via cable. If you don't have a Wi-Fi access point, you can't connect wirelessly, since radio waves are being emitted. To do this, you need a "box" or a Livebox.
It may happen (if you live in an apartment building) that when you search, you come across someone else's box. You can't connect to it because typically the network is secured, and even if you could, it would be better not to, as it would be considered hacking!

I am currently connected via Ethernet cable because I can't connect via Wi-Fi.. but even though I have very little knowledge about computers, I know that it works through waves..
My internet service provider is Numericable, which kindly installed a Netgear box that allows remote connection..

In fact, my problem is that my 'wireless local network' is disabled by default on this PC (I should mention that it's new) and I would like to know how to enable it in the device manager.

Yes, so you have a box, that’s what I was asking you.
So I don’t know how Numericable works, but basically, the first thing to do after turning on Wifi on your phone is to pair your computer with your box. You need to check the pack provided to see how to proceed with the setup.

Actually, I believe you still haven't grasped what my problem is.. it's much simpler than you think..
Actually, I need to know how to turn on/activate my Wi-Fi, not how to connect it to my box..
Because in order for it to connect to my box, it first needs to be activated/turned on
However
when I press the power button on my little antenna, the message is the same: 'network disabled, this device has been disabled in the device manager'

Ok, so you go to "Control Panel," "Device Manager." You open the manager and in the list, you will find "Network Adapter" with a + sign next to it. Click on the + and you will see the different installed adapters. Yours, for the wifi, will have the word "wireless" in the title. Right-click on it and in the dropdown menu, you should see "Enable." Click on "Enable" and your adapter will be active.

When I go to network adapters, I only have an Intel R 82562GT 10/100 Network Connection and it is enabled.. I don't find anything with the word wireless in the device manager..

Yes, of course, it's possible with a key (dongle), but what surprises me is that there isn't a Wi-Fi card! Almost all laptops come equipped with this card! Are you sure it's Wi-Fi enabled at least? If it is, you should have a small sticker like "Intel Centrino" on the bottom.

You go to the Control Panel and "Network and Sharing Center." In the window "View computers and network devices." On the right, you should see your network with its name (it's called SSID) and a mention like "private network." In "File and printer sharing," everything should be enabled except for file sharing and possibly "password-protected sharing." In the left column, click on "Manage network connections," then right-click on "Wireless Network." A window opens, check that all options are checked but not Internet Protocol version 6, which is unnecessary. Select Internet Protocol version 4, then click on "Properties," check everything to be automatic, and in the "Alternate Configuration" tab, make sure it shows "Automatic private IP address." Then OK and close.  After that, you need to put your box in pairing mode to establish the connection between it and the computer. This is in case the network card configuration worked! If nothing happens, well, you need to find out why the Wi-Fi card is missing!
