Hello,
My PC, only 2 days old, won't start anymore; the only sign of life is 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps (ASUS motherboard)!!!! Well, I'm obviously going to use the warranty, but I still wanted to know if anyone knew where this could be coming from?

Thanks

Bye

It seems it's more likely the graphics card than the motherboard.

Try putting in another one to test.

I also had the same problem according to the beeps (1 long 2 short) graphical problem. So I tested the graphics card; it's good. Then I removed the clear CMOS battery and discharged all the residual current from the motherboard by shorting the battery contacts to the ground with a copper wire (connected to a grounded outlet, water pipe). I restarted the PC and there was a miracle; after 3 days of struggle, everything works again. I put the battery back in. After 4 days to be able to get a boot. There it is, in case it can help. I really thought my ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe was dead.

I also had the same problem judging by the beeps (1 long 2 short) graphic issue. So I tested the graphics card, it's fine. Then I removed the clear mos battery and drained all the residual current from the motherboard by grounding the contacts of the battery slot with a copper wire (connected to a grounded outlet, water pipe). I restarted the PC and there was a miracle after 3 days of struggle, everything works again, I put the battery back in. After 4 days, I was able to boot. There you go, if it can help.

Hello, a bit late perhaps, but I would like to share my experience. Yesterday my new graphics card (GeForce 7600 GT) was working with the case open. Seeing that it was working, I closed everything up. When I turned the PC back on, I got 1 long beep followed by 2 short ones, and no display. I then opened it up again and saw that the graphics card was improperly seated, and that my rear clip (the bar that holds all the metal covers) was too tight. I had to enlarge the mounting holes to give some slack to the graphics card, and then it was back up and running!
    I hope this helps someone!
