Hello, I bought an external DVD burner with Lightscribe about a year ago. A week ago, I bought a new computer with Windows Vista software, but the Nero software provided with the external burner is not compatible with Windows Vista. I then downloaded the trial version of Nero 8 (valid for 15 days) because I wanted to try the Lightscribe function. I immediately bought Lightscribe DVDs and burned some videos on them. However, I cannot find the Lightscribe function in the Nero Cover Designer intended to work with Lightscribe. Do I need to download something or do something else to be able to burn my Lightscribe labels on the back of my DVDs?
Is there any other software (free or trial version) that you know works well with Lightscribe?
Please help me, I’m desperate!! Thank you in advance.

Hello
It's simple: if you want to print or get a preview, you need to put your lightscribe CD in the burner; otherwise, the "lightscribe" logo in the NERO window or the links in "file" won't appear.
To do this, you must insert a lightscribe CD upside down (label side down and the smooth side up) and also connect the burner ready to go; otherwise, nothing will work or show up. The burning process is very long (20 to 25 minutes) for just a few lines or an entire photo.
I'm taking this opportunity to ask if anyone knows how to achieve a very dark, well-contrasted output because with my NERO 9, I only get barely visible gray, even though I've selected "best quality" and updated the Lightscribe software.
In comparison, I noticed that the ROXIO software I used before produced "very black" patterns but is less convenient to use than Nero.
Strangely, it seems that the quality is random: sometimes it's excellent, and other times it's more or less good...
Thank you.

Hello,
When you print your image, the LightScribe options are located in the "File" menu of Nero CoverDesigner.
Since my burner does not have this feature (and given the quality of the images produced by this process, I can very well do without it), these options are grayed out for me.

Hello Judex, in the "File" menu of Nero Cover Designer, there is no "Print Lightscribe" or anything like that, and I also saw an image online of Cover Designer that has a Lightscribe tab like in this image https://pics.computerbase.de/1/4/4/6/0/28-1080.png (copy and paste the link to view the image)
does anyone have a solution?

I am experiencing the same problem as you, but I can't find the file you're talking about on Nero (Lightscribe direct labeling).
Could you please share the link to the page via this forum?
Thank you in advance.
