Issue printing with Nero Cover Design

With Nero Cover Designer, I prepared a label and saved it. The problem is printing it. The paper I bought has two dotted circles, symmetrical at the top and bottom, on each sheet. However, in the Nero print preview, the circle is shown to the left. When I print the label, it doesn't align with the dotted lines to peel off. I couldn't find anything in the Nero help (which is very detailed and lengthy). Do you know how to center the image (or how to move the image)? Thank you for your help. Bin

I read several messages on this forum that highlight how much the NERO Cover Designer software does not inform us users. What to think? Partial version?
Unnecessarily long and tedious presentation! Having to resort to another software to print the covers... I have also been through that. It is unfortunate that a company like NERO does not hire a translator or a writer who knows what they are talking about. Because, after numerous attempts, I managed to position the necessary prints correctly to the millimeter to create a cover.
I describe below the procedure, which is quite simple.
1.) First of all, under "File/Print/General tab", for
"Print borders" and "Print marks", do not choose "Only on plain paper". I see no usefulness in this command, which results in no printing taking place. You must either choose "On all paper formats" when adjusting positioning, or "Never" during printing of the cover elements.
In this window, you will set a value for the bleeding!#¥,#„”∑″ meaning the overflow of the printing limits. This helps avoid white edges around the print due to slight positioning discrepancies. Finally, in the same window, a preview of the selected elements is provided.
    under "File/Print/Elements tab".
2.) Next, under "File/Paper Formats", two categories appear. Choose the "User-defined formats" category. You will scroll down the dropdown menu which shows format1, format2, or more if you click on "Add format". Click on one of these.
A window opens asking for the name you want to assign to this format and provides the dimensions of the paper to be printed and the option for portrait or landscape printing.
The window also has an "add item" button. Clicking on it brings up a dropdown menu that defines all possible items for a cover. Choose those that are necessary for the desired cover type.
Then, for each of these items, a window opens allowing you to enter the coordinates "width, height, X and Y" or "outer radius, inner radius, X and Y"
that you have accurately measured on a sample of the precut paper.
X represents the distance from the left edge of the sheet to the leftmost point of the chosen item.
Y represents the distance from the top edge of the sheet to the highest point of the chosen item.
The "spine", meaning the width of a spine of an insert, will also be entered.
3.) After entering these parameters, under "File/Print/Elements tab" you will select the elements to print.
4.) Once the printing is done, you will note the discrepancies between the measured values and those entered, and correct them based on these discrepancies.

Thank you very much for all this explanation.
However, it has now been 3 hours that I've been trying to center the image before printing the DVD. In fact, I go to "File/Application Preferences/ Tab "Print" and then I look for the optimal number in X and Y to center. However, we can only go up to 25.000 mm for the x-axis...!
Not enough for the image to be fully centered.
Thank you for any further explanations.

I struggled in the same way with my prints using Nero Cover Designer.

    What I learned from it:
Using the File / Paper Formats menu, you can create your own user-defined final formats, for example Format 1 / Disc.

The menu bar View / Toolbars / Show must be displayed.
This gives you a scroll box that allows you to select predefined or user-defined paper formats depending on the item displayed in NCD.

So, display the tab for the disc to be printed, for example, then select the paper format in the scroll box.
You can do the same with the Booklet, Back Booklet, and Insert tabs depending on whether you are using regular or specialized paper.

In the File / Print / Elements tab menu, you just need to organize for printing by checking or unchecking the elements based on the paper used.

    Good work to all.

    Hello,

I certainly wouldn’t use Nero for printing CD/DVD labels.

I’ve looked through the documentation, and I don’t see any settings for precise positioning of the circles on the paper.

What you need is a program that can adjust the printing to within a fraction of a millimeter.

There are many shareware programs or 30-day demo versions that are better suited to your needs.

Hello and thank you for your advice. I used Nero CoverDesigner because all Nero software was installed on my computer when I bought it. Nero being a well-known name, it's a shame (for them) that we have to install another program to do the same thing! Thanks anyway and I will follow your advice. See you later, Bin.

    Hello,

For covers and inserts, Nero works very well, and I use it regularly.

Personally, I have a Canon Pixma IP4000 printer that, thanks to a special tray, allows direct printing on CDs/DVDs. And the software comes with the printer.

I use Verbatim discs with a white surface specifically designed for this purpose.

The result is of professional quality.

      Hello

I am not able to just print the outer cover of the double case. I always have to print all 3 pages.

    Hello

on Nero, go to the bottom of your page on disc 1, you should see the circle for your CD, then go to the top right next to the magnifying glass + in the paper format box and select @trac2010x(A4).

    AND THAT’S IT
