Hello,
I downloaded Real Player because it allows me to download videos from the Internet... The problem is that now this download feature doesn't work anymore... I don't understand why. I've checked Tools-->Preferences-->Downloading and Recording-->Enable downloading from the Internet.
Anyway, I don't understand... and I don't know what to do
Thank you in advance for your help

Real Player doesn't work for me either.
In fact, there are many software programs and browser extensions that allow you to download videos from the internet, like Zamzar, Internet Download Manager, KeepVid, and many other options.

How can you access the Tools menu? Because I can't even find it!
jacôp33
I uninstalled Real Player and then reinstalled it... now it works.
olivia
Yes, but if you uninstall and reinstall, you lose what you have already saved on RealPlayer?
AB
Yes, if you uninstall and reinstall, you lose all your recordings.
lynda
No, but the videos you download, you create a folder for them, open them with VLC, and you can uninstall Real Player while keeping your downloads.
Hello, on your browser page, on the top left you have favorites and all the way on the right 'Tools'. You open it and go to 'Manage Add-ons' and open it. Then in the list on the right, there is 'RealPlayer Download...'. You activate it and that's it! I had exactly the same problem and I searched for at least 3 days!
There are incompatibilities with other players like VLC that need to be uninstalled if you want Real to download.
Hey guys, I figured it out all by myself, I've got Windows 7, it's September 2011 (I'm specifying this since there are posts from 2008 & 2009... and thus earlier versions of Windows...)
Well, I went to the menu bar that allows you to display all the programs on the computer (you know where you go to "Shut down or restart the PC...!")
There in the list of programs, I chose Real Player and did a right-click to display the properties of Real Player: a window opens, I select the "Compatibility" tab and in the Compatibility mode section that was not checked, I CHECK THE BOX: "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" not finding the Windows 7 option in the drop-down menu, I put Windows XP (because I remembered it worked very well with Windows XP) then apply and OK, and you know what? : IT WORKS AGAIN
Perfectly fine, guys
Happy downloading
You're welcome, you're welcome....lol

Hello, I confirm I have Google Chrome 16 and RealPlayer 15. At first, I didn't have the "download this video" panel, and I just opened the properties of RealPlayer 15 and set it to "run in Windows XP" even though I have Windows 7, and indeed now it works; I can download via the little panel that displays above the videos. There you go, if that can help you.
YOU HAVE TO KEEP VERSION 2 OF FIREFOX, IT WORKS WELL WITH REAL PLAYER AND THE DOWNLOAD IS OK AT WORK.
Hello,
I found the solution to the problem of the Real Player download icon not appearing in Chrome or any other browser when hovering over it!
Chrome:
First of all, close Chrome.
Open Real Player, go to Preferences / Download and Recording, uncheck the box: Enable downloading and recording from the Web... Close Real Player.
Reopen Real Player and check the box: Enable downloading and recording from the Web...
Open Chrome, search for a video and you will see that the Real Player download icon will appear!
For those who have downloaded Chrome and the plugin that allows downloading from the Web:
RealPlayer HTML5Video Downloader was not in the extensions, follow the trick mentioned above and the extension will appear in your extensions!
For those who have Chrome and the trick mentioned above does not work, go to Chrome's extensions, disable: RealPlayer HTML5Video Downloader and close Chrome. Reopen Chrome and reactivate the Real Player plugin.
Firefox:
Open Firefox, go to Tools/Options/General.
In General, click on Manage Add-ons, go to Plugins, disable RealPlayer (tm) HTML5VideoShim Plug-in.
Close Firefox and reopen it and reactivate RealPlayer (tm) HTML5VideoShim Plug-in.
Internet Explorer:
Open IE, go to Tools/Internet Options/Programs.
In Programs, click on Manage Add-ons.
In Show, select All Add-ons, look for RealNetworks, Inc.
If the RealPlayer Download and Record Plugin for Internet Explorer is disabled, enable it by clicking on the line: RealPlayer Download and Record Plugin for Internet Explorer and click on Enable.
If the add-on is enabled, disable it, close IE and reactivate the add-on.
PS for IE, if you do not have: the Menu Bar at the top of the IE page, position your mouse at the top of the page, right-click and select Menu Bar.

I have the same problem as you, Dalidadou (but on Google Chrome; I don't know what your search engine is, so whatever) and actually I went to the wrench icon, then to settings, and I clicked on extensions, but the Real Downloader plugin wasn't there. My problem is that I don't know how to retrieve it because when I download RealPlayer, the plugin doesn't add itself to Chrome's extensions. PLEASE HELP ME!
Here is the solution explained on YouTube:

Hi
I think the Real player plug-in is not (yet) compatible with Firefox 3...
If you really care, temporarily switch back to FF2...
Otherwise, use IEtab since Realplayer is compatible with IE7...
Best regards

I think it comes from the latest version of firefox because the download works perfectly with google chrome as for that piece of crap explorer, as usual, nothing works
I think we need to wait for a firefox update or reinstall the old version

Hello
So you need to go to the control panel
and click on uninstall a program
on the left you have the uninstall of the system programs so you click
and you choose IE8
Then to deal with this matter with Real Player, you just need to get Firefox version 2
AND THAT'S IT
THERE YOU GO
GOODBYE

What should I do???

Hello everyone,
Same issue, I’ve tried all the tips provided on the forum:
uninstall / reinstall. Options > add-ons... Firefox 2, etc...
It's still not working, even though it was fine 3 days ago?
Do you have a solution that works??
Thanks in advance for your replies.
