Thank you for helping me
I have the same problem as galber 38, I have the error message oxc18a0001 on my HP C5180 printer and I don't have a fax machine and I don't have the pound sign. I can't resolve this error.

Hi, remove the battery from the card that records all the tinkering with the ink cartridges.

Hello,

We are not the customer support for HP here.

Have you already checked the user manual to see if your issue is mentioned there? Also, check on the HP website.

I suggest you start there.

Of course I consulted the HP website! And the documentation
There is no reference to this specific error and the suggested manipulations do not yield results
HP's response is very vague, which seems to lead me towards an expensive exchange!!

It seems to me that it should be possible to perform a reset from the printer's keyboard?
If anyone has encountered this issue before, I thank them in advance for indicating the result obtained to resolve it!!
Thank you

Hello everyone,

You're lucky I stumbled upon this page! The day before yesterday, my HP Photosmart C6180 suddenly displayed the same error message, namely: "Ink system failure... error number 0xc18a001." After some searching online, I found out that several people who had encountered this problem and couldn't solve it had ultimately sent the device back to customer service. However, not losing hope, I decided to call HP Technical Support. A simple manipulation and a few minutes were enough to make the error message disappear! Since then, everything has been working wonderfully.

Here’s the procedure:

1 - Turn on the printer. It should normally display the error message.
2 - Press the "9" and "#" keys on the printer's keypad simultaneously.
3 - While holding the buttons down, unplug the power cable from the device.
/!\ You will lose ALL your settings (hardware reset)
4 - Then, while still pressing the two buttons, plug the cable back in and turn on the printer.
5 - Release the buttons.

And here’s the result ;)

Best regards, Jérôme.

Hi Jérôme!
Great solution you have. I have another problem with my HP C7180 printer: the black cartridge is no longer aligned, which causes missing lines.
I think I made a mistake while trying to clean the print head (cartridge nozzles and printer with a special product).

Do you have another miracle solution?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I would like to try your solution but I have a problem with the # key on my HP Photosmart 3210 printer: none of the keys on the keyboard have that symbol!

Can you tell me which key corresponds to the hash sign?

Thank you in advance for your response.

If you have a numeric keypad on your HP printer, you should normally find the # sign at the bottom left. But I wonder if your printer offers the fax function...

I had the same problem in place of the #, I pressed the key to the right of the zero at the same time as the 9 and it worked. The system was initialized but I had to go through the process twice. I hope it will be the same for you.

Hi nene

thank you for your reply which allowed me to get my printer, which I was going to throw away, working on the first try.

On HP’s good advice, I bought a new machine yesterday. A happy feeling told me not to unpack it, and now I can return it thanks to you.

Thanks again and bravo to the support on the net.
