Printing Margins in Word Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding Word 2007:

whenever I try to print a document, I always have margins that do not print.
Yet in the layout settings, I set all the margins to zero.

I know the problem isn't with my printer since it can print without margins.
For example, when I print a photo, in A4 or 10x15 without using Word, it prints perfectly to the edge.

So the issue definitely lies with Word.
That’s why I’m asking: is it possible to print from Word without margins?
Is there a specific action I need to take?

Thank you in advance for your help, as I have already searched through other posts and haven't found any solutions, or maybe I just overlooked something...

If there are no solutions, I will have to resort to cutting with scissors, but that’s a hassle when I’m printing twenty or more...

In Word 2007, go to Print... / Options / Advanced Options / Printing Then uncheck "Adjust the content for A4 or 8.5x11 paper size" This should solve your problem ;) (at least it solved mine ^^)

Hi, the margins are never at zero, they are at least 1.

Thank you for the response, yes it's true I forgot that, because when you reset it, it corrects itself afterwards at a minimum.
Anyway, that doesn't solve the problem (I just tried again in the draft).
Moreover, when I click "print," it tells me "The margins of section 1 are set outside the printable area of the page. Continue printing?"
I think the problem must come from there, but maybe it's not possible to print full page...

what you reported in preview mode for the margin, you need to increase the margin by reducing the size of the image another question do you want the image as a photo?

As I said, this is actually an example.

What I want to do is print a project I created, with text and WordArt, and I have an image in the background.
I want the image to cover the entire page, so reducing it won't solve the issue.

Whether I set the margins to normal, narrow, moderate, or custom doesn't change anything at all.

Unfortunately, that's what I think too.
It's pointless to have good software (which isn't cheap either) if it can't do this simple thing...
Well, thank you anyway, I'll leave this discussion unresolved in case someone has a trick.
On my side, if I find a solution, I'll let you know.

I had the same problem and I'm sending you a solution that I tested:

You need to go under Word in File ---) Page Setup --) File Format, and the trick is to choose: "Paper Format" and

select A4 or A5 from the dropdown menu. Because I was printing an A5 on an A4 sheet!!! Also, in the margin menu, I checked "2 on 1", "left binding position".

When I print it tells me the same thing but you just ignore it and it works!!

Hi,  I had the same problem, I use an HP printer and the solution is: In the printer's print properties (not in Word), there is an option to print "borderless."  There you go  Good luck

Try: file / print / properties / ( paper/quality ) / and check borderless printing, and auto adjust without border.

Solution:

file / layout / paper / paper size / A4 borderless / OK

and of course printer settings for marginless printing...

Hello, deediay.  You have noticed that Word is referred to as a Word Processor, and not as an Image Processor for which there are excellent products available! This explains that, and it is not appropriate to denigrate this software for what it was not designed to do... You can create your posters with Publisher, which is made for that, or even with PowerPoint. -- Retirement is great! Especially in the Caribbean... :-) &#9787; Raymond &#9794;

Hi Raymond,Actually, it's not just an image.It's an advertisement poster that I made with text and a background image.Since I'm used to working with Word, I did it with that.It's still weird that this option isn't available, anyway let's move on...I'll try to get into Publisher, it shouldn't be too complicated.I'm marking this topic as resolved, so it won't keep resurfacing (it's from May 2008 after all...)So to summarize the possible solutions with Word:- Use a virtual printer (like Pdf Creator) to convert the file to PDF.- Convert the document to JPEG format. Hi,  I can't print my Word document with 0 cm margins even though all the margins are set to 0 cm; the right margin persists. I don't know what to do to make it stop. Please help me.

Use PowerPoint to set an image as the background (insert, picture) then click on the image and choose send to back. :o)

I'm sorry, but I'm bringing up the topic again two years later because I unfortunately have the same problem. I've tried all the methods mentioned in this discussion, but nothing works :s
However, for me, it's not for printing a promotional poster but for my thesis which has a background... I find it ugly to keep these borders, especially since my thesis will be printed with a square spine binding which means it will ultimately be a book...
Has anyone found a solution after these two years?

I found the solution, you need to disable the borders before printing
so let me explain:

1- click on print
2- just below the printer selection there are printer properties, click on it.
3- click on advanced
4- check if you see printing without borders --> by default it is enabled, you just need to disable it once that's done you click on "ok"
and then you will print on the entire surface of the page there you go if this helped some people ;)

Nonsense. Setting zero margins should work on all software. The problem may come from the printer not being set to zero margins. For my printer, I can't get it to work with Publisher, PowerPoint, Corel, or Photoshop. I thought I would find an answer since the question has been "resolved," and I read this.
