Hello,
My question is: can we empty the temp files located in "C:/Documents and Settings/station/local settings/temp" without risk to programs or to the computer?
The concern is that this is the work PC, and it serves as a server for other PCs in the company. All backups also go through it. (backups that are then transferred to the external hard drive)
So I wanted to know if I could clear these files without risking bugging the computer, and therefore avoid having the whole company on my back, because I made a mistake lol.
One more question: what is the temp folder used for exactly?
PC information: Windows 2000 or 98 (I don't remember)
Software used: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Excel, and others (I don't remember all of them)
P.S.: you might have guessed, I'm not very good at computing :)
Thanks, see you soon!

Hello,
Close all the applications you have and delete the contents of your "temp" directory.
This directory serves, as its name indicates, to store temporary files. However, due to crashes or poorly configured installation programs, it sometimes happens that these files are not deleted. So you can safely delete everything.
And while we're at it, do it automatically with Ccleaner
