C:\WINDOWS\Temp (can it be deleted?) Solved/Closed

Question

Hello, can we delete the files in C:\WINDOWS\Temp
I have 542 MB in there.
If I delete it, is it risky?

I occasionally delete what's in

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Cookies

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\History

and

C:\Documents and Settings\Francis\Local Settings\Temp

So is C:\WINDOWS\TEMP important?
What are the files in there?

no matter the method!
EVERYTHING in windows/temp is straight to the trash!!
There may just be a refusal because 1 file is being used by a running program, that's all, in that case we delete everything except that one.

These are your internet files, in principle you need to go through there.  Go on the internet and click on tools  Then under "browsing history" click on delete  It should be better!!! XD

Hello,
Take CCleaner to do a good cleanup in Windows, applications, and the registry (don't forget to uncheck Yahoo toolbar during installation). After installation, open CCleaner, in Windows, Internet Explorer, check: auto-complete history, in Applications, Firefox, check: information entered in forms, then in Options, Advanced, if you wish --> uncheck: delete only temporary files....., then run CCleaner to clean. After cleaning, check in: C\windows\temp, if there are any left, delete them manually.
