White screen issue on HD channel via HDMI

Hello,
Here is my problem.
I just acquired a full HD flat screen as well as Canal's HD package via satellite.
Until this morning everything was working perfectly (Lille/Lyon in HD was amazing).
But since this morning when I watch Canal through the HDMI input, I get a white screen with black dots, I only have HD audio and the Canal menus display normally (remote control, settings...)
I swapped the HDMI inputs and cables, but the result is the same!
Can anyone help please? I got this equipment yesterday (installed by a pro!) and now it’s a bit of a headache.
One last thing, when I watch through EXT 1 (SCART), everything works perfectly but being able to use HDMI and having to go through SCART is stressful.
Thank you for your responses
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Same problem. I noticed that the malfunction occurred when I went to channel 8 to choose a channel. The only solution is to cut the power behind the decoder and wait for the reset, which is still a bit long. Otherwise, I’ve tried everything and nothing works.
For those who have the remote control issue, with the SONY RAVIA, you need to disable the auto brightness control.
Good luck!

Hello pat69200. I'm happy for you that everything is getting better or almost. For the image lag on the SCART connection, if you have the DUAL-S terminal, in the image menu you have an RGB setting, try increasing or decreasing that setting or switch to composite in the SCART 1 settings.
I also experienced what you’re going through, getting stuck on a channel and having to reset. This problem is very rare but does happen (once or twice since January 2008).
To avoid further issues, don’t leave your terminal on an HD channel (190,191,192, etc...). This will prevent you from having to reset the terminal too often. Since I've been doing this, I haven't had to reset the terminal, whereas before I had to do it at least twice a day.
See you later.

Thank you for the advice! I'm just waiting for a Canal Sat customer number so I can navigate their site and possibly choose some new options; I think I'll simply go with Canal +. I had all the channels for free for a few days, but that's over now!
Have a great weekend
Best regards
Patrick

Hello, I exchanged my Pilotime the day before yesterday for a Dual S and had a freeze during recording the first night, rebugged yesterday while recording again, and problems like many people apparently with HD image cutouts.....???? I'm wondering if I shouldn't go back and get my Pilotime.....!!!!! Too bad, but we need to bombard Canal with complaints so that they react!!!! The first person who finds a solution should share it with the others!!! lol! Thank you

I just migrated from TPS to Canal Sat, everything is okay but I still have the same issue as you here, namely that if I
go through channel 8 Mosaïque, the HDMI connection becomes unusable (white screen and gray vertical lines).
The only solution for now: menu, and reinstall!
Another problem encountered: on external connection 2 on the plasma, especially on national channels (TF1, F, etc.)
a shift in the image from right to left in the upper quarter of the screen: very unpleasant.
Solutions?

Finally, have you noticed a significant difference when connecting the decoder with a digital audio cable to a home theater, compared to using two red and white analog cables? I can’t test it because I don’t have the digital audio cable and it's Sunday and there are no open stores in Lyon... grrrr!

Last advice: don’t skimp on the quality of the cables (HDMI or even SCART), you really see a difference between a high-end and a low-end cable!

I specify the date of the email regarding the HDMI white screen issue: Sunday, May 18, 2008!
The problem has been ongoing for quite some time!

Hello. If you got Canal+ HD since yesterday, you may not have been activated yet. Otherwise, have you checked the Canal+ settings in the image section to see if you're on 1080I and not on 720P since you have a full HD? If not, reset your Canal+ by unplugging it and plugging it back in, and see what happens. Of course, when you plug it back in, make sure to let the cycle run, which takes several minutes. See you later.

I tried this morning to reset it, but it's still the same.
Especially since it was working last night because I watched the games.
I'm definitely in 1080i.
Thanks for your response; if anyone has encountered this situation, thank you...

I have the same problem since canalsat changed its card. Ever since I put in this card, I can no longer receive canalsat via HDMI. I contacted canal by email and they replied that it was due to a technical issue on their end but that they would fix it (it has been a week now and nothing has been resolved).

Hello. Did you choose the HD recording option because it's essential?????. I took that option and I'm recording on an external hard drive or a recorder without any problems. Did you set it up correctly in the DualS menu???. Talk to you later.

Of course, the options are enabled. I believe we are dealing with teething issues, and it will take some time for everything to work properly... Thanks, see you later.

Hello Pat69200. In your decoder menu, are you in the image section, set to 16/9 and 1080 if your TV is FULL HD or 720 if it is HD READY, this for your image delay? Also check in your TV menu.
Regarding the audio connection, you should know that the digital coaxial cable and others are designed to receive DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 sound. The RCA cable (Red & white) carries DOLBY PROLOGIC sound. It's your choice that determines your connection. For my part, DOLBY PROLOGIC sound is just as good as the other; it's just a matter of sound effects that, in my opinion, are better in PROLOGIC than in DIGITAL. This is just a personal opinion and only reflects my own view.
For channel 8, I don’t have this problem; everything works perfectly (DUAL-S terminal), so I can’t respond to you.

Thank you Sam! In fact, things are gradually becoming clearer!
For the image lag when outputting to the TV, I solved the problem by using the HDMI connection, which is also of better quality. For the sound, I indeed switched to a digital audio RCA cable, the sound is very good
(the price of the cable too!).
Finally, regarding the issue of the HDMI TV decoder connection blocking, the problem is recurring and seems to be noted by Canal: when you're using HDMI, if you're unfortunate enough to venture onto channel 8 (mosaic), then your HDMI connection "drops" and you can only recover it by unplugging the decoder from the 220 V (at least you don't have to redo the complete installation as the decoder retains what it has in memory!)

Additionally, I encountered one or two other bugs: the decoder getting stuck on a channel and being unable to do anything: change channels, turn off, etc ... Again, the only solution is to unplug the decoder from the 220 V!

There you go, it's nice to be able to exchange ideas!
What I regret most about the migration from TPS Canal Sat is the loss of the Italian channels, except for Rai 1
but well, you can’t have your cake and eat it too...

Good evening everyone,
I installed my Mediasat Max decoder yesterday to get Canal in HD and when I connect my HDMI cable, I see nothing on my TV. I select HDMI1 and the screen is gray with snow!!! However, in the decoder's programming under the settings icon, then image, in the HD activation icon, I switch DVI force instead of HDMI and then, fortunately, I have the image but no sound!!! Moreover, when I go to channel 192 Canal+ HD, it tells me that I cannot access it and displays "check alignment," which is perfect because it recognized it without any problem during installation.
Thank you for your help.
