Please help me, my Wii won't turn on. Solved/Closed

Hello,
After playing on my Wii, I turned it off. After that, it has no colors. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, but it still doesn't work. It's connected to a power strip and my TV works fine. Please.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi everyone, a little tip: if you don't want to wait all night before restarting your console, just remove the backup battery for a second (there’s a small screw trap under the console) and then put it back in place, then reconnect your console to the power supply.

After a power outage, I had the same problem. I tried everything: unplugging and replugging, long pressing the button, but there was no signal or light. So the next day, I took it to customer service, and right in front of my eyes, they plugged it in, and it turned on immediately. I was frustrated. When I got home, I plugged it in, and it worked too. Then I thought I’d try to put it on standby and simulate a power outage by unplugging the power strip. I plugged it back in, and the same symptom appeared: it wouldn't turn back on. In short, either there’s a defect, or there’s a short-circuit protection mechanism; it's very strange. It's been 1.5 hours now, and still nothing.

I just tested Toto's solution on my Wii, which had the same issue discussed on this forum, and it works great! My little brother can play Super Smash Brawl again with his friends without worrying... My only problem was unscrewing the small screw, which wasn’t so easy, but if you're motivated and a good game is waiting inside your console, you’ll manage it ;)

Same issue, applying Anacondange's solution and restarted without data loss and without too much waiting...

For the little screw, it comes off easily with the right screwdriver...lol

Well, I just wanted to thank Toto because his solution works perfectly. I had this problem before and my customer service fixed it for me. If I had known it was so simple to repair, I would have checked the forums the first time :p I was really frustrated, but now everything is working wonderfully. Thank you for your advice, but it wasn't the same case for me. After disconnecting from the internet, my screen stayed black for too long. Losing patience, I unplugged it and plugged it back in, but the light went out and nothing turns on as if it were turned off. Does anyone have an answer?

Hello, I have a similar problem with a few exceptions...
So I sold my Wii a few days ago, the console was working perfectly, we unplugged it normally, it was in the original box for three days, the person wants to play normally, plugs it back in and the red light comes on, everything seems fine. When we try to turn on the console, the light turns green but only for a second and then the console shuts off... the same goes for the blue light of the CD drive, a second and then nothing... please help me if anyone has answers or has had the same problem, I await your replies.

Thank you, Toto, because thanks to you my Wii is working again... With the help of a small knife, I was able to remove the little screw and thus take out the battery... After putting it back, I unplugged my Wii (no electrical power) Then after a few minutes, I plugged it back in. The red light came on... And I was able to play normally again... For clarification, the startup problem of the console after a power cut is related to the WiiConnect24 mode. Indeed, if you disable the permanent connection, you will no longer have this issue.

Let's hope it will be fixed in future updates...

I also had the same problem: I was playing James Bond online and there was a bug - I unplugged the console then plugged it back in and when I plugged it back in there was no more light on the power button, so I went online and came across this forum. I tried both techniques (the battery and the thirty seconds) but neither worked, so I tried something pretty weird: I took a hairdryer and pressed it (turned on to the max) against all the holes of my Wii (USB port, power plug, holes whose names I don't know, etc.). Then I plugged it in and like magic it turned back on :). At first, there was a weird noise, but when I got to the menu everything was back in order.

Just a little info, it's the power adapter that needs to be unplugged from the wall and not the power cable on the console side.

There you go, my Wii was on and the television stayed black. I reset the AC adapter. You need to unplug all the wires and wait 90 seconds. Then plug the adapter back in, then the sensor bar and the RCA cables. The image came back.

Hello, I had the same issue as you! Well, I simply unplugged my controllers that were connected to the Wii, and as if by magic, the Wii immediately turned red (so it was off) and it worked again.
