Double letter keyboard issue

Hello,
My parents have a problem with their keyboard: they have to wait a few seconds to type the same letter twice. They cannot quickly type a word with a double letter. This issue appeared a few weeks ago and had never happened before. Normally, I would have searched the control panel to find the reason for the problem, but I am currently in Canada (they are in France) and my computer runs on Windows Vista, while theirs runs on Windows XP, so I can't help them.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Rémi

Big up, I found the solution, I just had the same problem
go to "accessibility options", "change how your keyboard works" and then uncheck "turn on filter keys".
However, I didn't find out why the box was checked, so I hope to have helped some of you

Hi, control panel => keyboard => repeat delay: you move the slider to "short"
Thank you Kevin, but it doesn't change my problem. What you explained pertains to the repeat delay when you hold down a key on the keyboard. My issue concerns the repetition of a letter that has to be typed twice (lifting the finger off the keyboard). For example: when you type "aller", I have to wait a few seconds between the two "l's".
I'm sorry if I didn't explain myself well. Do you have another idea?
Thank you,
Rémi

Hi, okay indeed I misunderstood the problem, and do you also have to wait a few seconds between two different letters or only two identical letters?
Otherwise, do you have another keyboard to check if the problem comes from the keyboard or the computer?
See you and sorry for taking so long to respond.

I have the same problem; my site has been touching my keyboard for 2 years lol and since then I can't write two letters in a row, it's very annoying for work.
On my Galaxy iPhone, the keyboard is doubling the letters I type. What should I do? Thank you for your good services. C.L.

When I press a key on the keyboard and hold it down for 10 seconds, I should get a lot of letters like this aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
but when I hold a key down for 10 seconds, I only get one a and it's the same for all the letters like that, thank you for your help.

I have the same problem. Waiting to double a letter, "delete" no longer works.
I changed my keyboard. It was a keyboard problem. Everything is OK now. Phew, what a hassle when you have a few passwords with double letters and the problem hasn't been detected yet!!!!!

Have you tried to do the operation described above? Because I didn't really understand your post number 13!
I have the same problem (you have to wait to be able to double a letter)
Does anyone have the solution?
(It used to work well ...?..!)
