Archos 605 WiFi issue

Hello,

I bought an Archos 605 WiFi 4 GB and one day when I turned it on, it says Recovery (code 104) Would you like to recover your system?
The screen is all white, what should I do?

Hello,

I just had exactly the same problem with my 605 wifi, here’s the procedure to follow:

1. Go to the ARCHOS website www.archos.com
2. Go to the "downloads" section
3. Click on "Firmware"
4. Download the firmware corresponding to the product
5. Connect the ARCHOS to the PC and select the "REPAIR DISC" option
6. Your PC should recognize the ARCHOS as a hard drive, so you need to copy the downloaded firmware directly into the ARCHOS (do not copy it into folders like "DATA"...)
7. Take the ARCHOS back and click on "DONE"
8. Start the installation of the detected firmware

9. It should work!

Same problem with the connection to Vista: it worked once: I selected the hard drive, my PC recognized the 605, I downloaded a music file and a movie to test = ok, I unplugged the USB = Archos works perfectly... then I replug the USB and there’s a message from Vista that no longer recognizes the Archos!!! I restarted twice, switched from mobile device to hard drive and vice versa (you never know) but still nothing!!!! HELP!!!

my husband just gave me an Archos 605 wifi and I'm thrilled but I can't connect to the internet, however, I'm connected to wifi!

I think I have your answer. Try to turn it on (if you can) and go to the menu. Then I think you should try to unlock your Archos. I had the same problem and by doing that I succeeded and it works again. (but I can't guarantee that it will work...)

So I have a big problem. I had an update issue and I fixed it but... my touchscreen no longer works! What should I do now? My Archos (605 wifi 30GB) is only a year old... Please help me, that would be nice.

The trick worked for me, that’s cool. I was scared because a song gave me “corrupted file” and nothing happened afterwards, so I had to reset everything (device bought in September 2008).
Moly, regarding the touchscreen, I had the problem but I unlocked it:
1- Settings / Display / Touchscreen Calibration
2- You will be asked to position your stylus on 3 successive points (dotted small crosses) on the screen, at the 3rd it will activate the touchscreen.

Hello!!
I previously had a problem with my Archos 605 WiFi not turning on; the screen had turned completely white and there was a message that appeared saying "would you like to convey your system." Since then, I've installed the updates and it's working very well. But the only problem is that I downloaded the updates but I can't install the plug-ins on my Archos nor connect to my Archos, I don't know why. If you could help me and tell me how to install the updates on my Archos, I'd really appreciate it.
Any solution is welcome.
