Hello,
I have an Archos 3 Vision and I can't get the touchscreen to work, it seems locked. Has this happened to you? Thank you for your help. I HAVE TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND ON AGAIN.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.5.1

Press the back with a sufficiently narrow object on 'Reset', then plug it into your PC and turn it on. It should work; if not, I suggest, if you still have the warranty, to return it to the store!

Same problem as you, I can't set a wallpaper that isn't one of the default wallpapers, this Archos really sucks, so many issues, if I had known, I wouldn't have bought it.

For the wallpaper, you just need to download a wallpaper and put it in the photos
then go to the bottom left (photo option) and click on set as wallpaper.

Hi, I have the same problem as you with my Archos 3: I was listening to music and suddenly nothing! The screen is unresponsive, and I can't turn it off either (the reset button on the back doesn't work either). If you have a solution, please share it with me. Hope to hear from you soon.

First of all, if your Archos bugs and no longer responds, let it discharge; it will turn off, and then you'll need to recharge it, and everything will go back to normal; it worked for me.

Hi, so to add videos, you need to download the Minilyrics software and set it to open at the same time as one of your programs like Windows Media Player. When you play a song, it searches for the lyrics and if it finds them, it saves them in a folder. You just have to copy and paste it into the same directory where your music is on your Archos and rename it with exactly the same title as your song followed by .lrc, and it should work. As for me, I also have a question: when I put videos on my Archos in MPEG format, it says format error and I can't find a format that works. Can you help me please?

I managed to put song lyrics on my Archos mp4. Basically, you delete the content of the data file and replace it with the lyrics of a song. Then, to put another set of lyrics, you delete the previous ones, and it will prompt you to accept something, which will create a new file with your lyrics. However, the lyrics do not display when you listen to the song; you have to go to the files and then to data. I know it sounds quite weird, but it works for me, so I'm good with it. I hope I was able to help you, and if I wasn't clear enough because it's quite complicated to explain, don't hesitate to ask questions.

Hello, put videos in AVI and it works very well with copy-paste. I can't get the lyrics to scroll on my Archos at the same time as the music like it does on my computer. I downloaded MiniLyrics and it works great on the computer but not on the Archos, even though I've tried everything. I manage to put the .irc file on the Archos with all the scrolling seconds, and nothing works. Actually, I can't see anything other than the music note when I'm listening to a song.

If it won't turn on anymore, maybe you should try charging it, maybe it's a battery issue. If it's neither of those, I don't really know anymore.

Il m'est arrivé la même chose, ne t'inquiète pas. Il faut remettre le bouton en bas sur la position "lock" et pousser le bouton tout à gauche d'un coup, bref, et ça devrait marcher. Il n'y a pas de chance que cela arrête le baladeur, car pour l'arrêter, il faut rester appuyé longtemps. Voilà.

Here is my problem: I modified my wallpaper with an image that I imported to my Archos, and every time I turn it off and turn it back on, it resets to a default wallpaper. I have to press several times on the touch function at the bottom left to scroll through the different wallpapers to find the one I selected. To keep the image you had set, you need to turn off your Archos by pressing the power button on the touchscreen, not the one near the headphones. You should press it for a few seconds, and it will save your changes. When you turn it back on, you will have your image, and the last music played will have been saved. That's it!

Salut, il faut mettre dans le fichier que tu as créé le temps que tu veux que chaque phase reste affichée, (comme les paroles d'origine qui t'ont été livrées avec !regarde).

It especially bugs for me when I'm watching videos. Try to see when yours bugs and try not to do what makes it bug. And then, you try to live with it anyway (foolproof method: have another MP3 just in case).

I solved the problem by switching to "locked" mode. Paradoxically, that freed up the system.

Now I’ve lost access to the French language. (Chinese isn’t easy for selecting these options…) and no firmware to download!!

Conclusion: not great for the Vision 3 (more skunk than mink!! ;-)

I had exactly the same problem, but I think the crystals cracked during charging. Darty's customer service kindly explained to me that it was due to high pressure and that the warranty does not cover this issue. High pressure? The screen has no marks! I don't know what to do; I've had it for barely five months...

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to set a wallpaper on my Archos 3. I go to images, choose a photo, then select the option to use it as wallpaper.
Everything works fine, I see the image as the wallpaper, I turn it off, then turn it back on, and another image appears (the one that's always set by Archos)
So I don't know why the image doesn't stay as the wallpaper!!

Hello, to avoid issues with your Archos freezing, you need to back up the system file, follow these instructions:
-After connecting your Archos 3 to your computer, go to the root of your player’s drive via 'This PC'.
-In this folder, drag this small file (do not rename it, spelling is important). http://www.archoslounge.net/IMG/2009/09/RKLDSET.FLW.zip

-Disconnect your Archos 3 using the "Safely Remove Hardware" menu. But be careful, do not physically disconnect your player; leave it connected via USB, just eject it using the previous menu.
-Return to 'This PC', you should see a new device corresponding to your Archos (2 devices: one for the Archos and your files, another for accessing the hidden files of the Archos)
-Click on the new letter and you should see folders SYSTEM, Resource...
-Go into the Resource folder then BID. You will find a file BMP0.BIN corresponding to the player’s firmware. Copy-paste this firmware into your documents for example.

When your Archos freezes, you will repeat this operation by replacing the freezing firmware with the backup you made.
