Hello,
I just bought this printer, which works very well with a USB connection and is set up on the computer.
Now I want to connect it via Wi-Fi to use the fax (my phone socket isn't next to the computer).
I have a small Epson box that I apparently need to connect to the computer, set up the network connection, and then send it the information. Then I connect the box via USB to the printer and it should recognize my network.
To be more precise, I have a Livebox Wi-Fi internet connection.
It's so complicated that I can only hope that someone with a Livebox has already installed a printer via Wi-Fi, and even better if it's the same printer (but let's not get our hopes up too much).
I have tried lots of maneuvers, but it's terribly complicated. Darty, where I bought the Epson, was of no help, and neither was Epson, they are not competent at all.
Thank you in advance for your help

Well, I finally managed to install my Epson printer over Wi-Fi, thanks to the Epson chat that provided me with the protocol (much simpler than the original manual).
For those who may have the same problem as I did, here’s the procedure:
1) connect the small Epson box to the computer with the ethernet cable, plug in the box
2) using the Epson installation software, wait for it to find the network
3) for the security key choice, select WEP 128-bit hexadecimal
4) enter the Wi-Fi key from the Livebox, the one located under the Livebox (with the letters in uppercase)
5) for the IP address choice, select auto
6) the computer transmits the configuration to the Epson box
7) follow the instructions, that is, disconnect the box from the computer, unplug the box from the power, plug it back in, connect the box to the printer via the USB cable that is normally used to connect the computer to the printer (note the printer must be turned off), turn on the printer, wait for the USB light on the small box to turn green and blink, then click next with the Epson installation software.
8) normally, it finds the network and configures the printer (you need to click next several times, everything is automatic).
9) note: set it to read-only when it asks you, not read/write
10) it then asks if you want to print a test page and then everything works finally
I just noticed that I no longer had internet connection but I just had to disconnect and reconnect to my Livebox internet for everything to work again. I initiated a print of a Word document, it printed it, and I was able to continue browsing the web.
However, don't worry, the printing time is a bit longer, probably because it now goes through the Livebox. It means that my computer sends the page to print to the Livebox, which then sends it to the Epson box connected to the printer.
There you go, I hope I didn't forget any steps and that I was clear enough for the "average" user who isn't a hardcore IT person, like me ;)-
Hello,
I just read your explanation because I have the same issue as you trying to set up my Epson D9400F over Wi-Fi.
I would like to know which installation program you are referring to? Is it EpsonNet Print? Because you mention to click next at one point, but I don’t see where you mean.
Can you give me the step-by-step procedure you followed to complete the installation, with as many details as possible?
I should mention that I'm running XP and I'm with Free, using Freebox V3.
Thank you in advance. -
Hello
I'm on Vista, not XP, but the installation should be the same.
I used the CD I had for the Wi-Fi, I launched it and went for the easy installation. There, I immediately found myself in the configuration setup.
As for describing the entire procedure to you again, no, I tried to explain it as clearly as possible with as much detail as I could, I can't do better, sorry.
