Installing epson dx9400f over wifi, help!!

I installed this printer yesterday and faced the same problem as you.
Finally resolved this morning.

Your printer is probably set to dynamic IP address. You will need to set a static one that you can then enter into the configuration utility "Epson Scan configuration".

The procedure:
1) Let's assume your computer is turned on.
2) Same for the printer.
3) Same for the print server (the small white box), which is connected to your printer via USB cable.
4) Briefly press the SW1 button located at the back of the print server (be careful not to press SW2, which is just below). Your printer will then print a configuration sheet. Retrieve the current IP address of your printer from the printed page in the <tcp> IP Address section. It should look like this:
<TCP/IP>
IP Address 192.168.1.xx
5) Launch Internet Explorer and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.xx . You will then have access to the configuration settings of your printer and switch from automatic IP to static IP.
6) Go to Configuration / TCP/IP. In IP Address Settings/ Method for Acquiring the IP Address, select Manual.
7) In the IP Address field, type 192.168.1.20 for example (that's what I used).
8) Click on Submit at the bottom of the page. When prompted for Login and Password, leave empty and just click on O.K.
9) On the page that will then appear, click on Reset. The USB and Status indicators of your print server will turn red for about twenty seconds.
10) When the indicators have turned green again, type in the Internet Explorer address bar the new IP address (the one defined previously) and check in Configuration / TCP/IP / IP Address Settings / Method for Acquiring the IP Address that it is indeed set to Manual. The printer now has a static IP address and all that’s left is to enter the new address in the "Epson Scan configuration" utility.
11) Launch the "Epson Scan configuration" utility.
12) Click on the Network button
13) In the box below named "Scanner network address", delete the defined scanner (select and then delete).
14) Then click on add. A new window opens.
15) In the Scanner Name field, enter your chosen name.
16) Click on the "Enter address" button.
17) In the field below, type the IP address set in the previous steps in the form 192.168.1.xx.
18) Click on O.K. and run a test.

This should now work...

I am using OS10, I followed the assistant carefully and it works without any problem. My only issue was the first print:
I was indeed selecting the printer "STYLUS EPSON DX9400F" (the USB config name) when I should have selected "STYLUS EPSON DX9400F-4477" (the name of the config for Wi-Fi printing) from the list of available printers on my Mac.

I called Epson, and they practically hung up on me... I found the subtleties (at Free) by myself

They should contact me personally; it's difficult through emails. I didn't even follow the

"first advice" given by the technician, and I am now operating "wirelessly" with a desktop connected

to my Freebox running XP and a laptop on Wi-Fi running Vista, quite an achievement!

I also bought the EPSON DX 9400 F WIFI printer. After struggling quite a bit, I found out where the problem came from: a port opening issue on my Livebox. If any of you haven't resolved your installation issues, I can provide some clarifications.

It's great to print via WIFI; I have 2 PCs equipped with wifi, and they can print.

Hi, I'm with Free and I managed to install my printer via Wi-Fi without any problem thanks to keiko71's instructions. However, with Free, you need to use a 64-bit hexadecimal WEP key! On the other hand, the instructions on the CD-ROM are a hassle!!!

The whole solution is here: be careful to remove the USB printer installation on Windows otherwise there will be a conflict, but I'm using Wi-Fi for the laptop and Ethernet for the desktop and it works if either computer is turned off. It’s been almost 4 days trying to install my printer... I’m about to craaaaccck !!!
When it’s searching for the connection with the box, it tells me:
"connecting to the print server - edimax network installer: make sure your multifunction device is properly connected to the print server and that the print server is not being used by another computer". Yet I’m following all the instructions to the letter...
Then, when this message pops up, I have no choice but to click ok, the printer isn’t installed, but the box software is, after all the applications install automatically, but in the end nothing works, even when I add the printer manually later, it’s as if the box hasn’t found any network, it’s as soon as I unplug the cable between the box and the live box at the request of the CD that it stops working and I get the error message mentioned above.
I’m on the verge of a nervous breakdown!!!!!!!!!!
I didn’t think you needed a degree + 3234234234 to install a Wi-Fi printer on Vista....
I’ve followed Keiko’s instructions too... the same error message as soon as I unplug the cable between the box and the live box. And it doesn’t proceed in the same order she indicated, plus at no point did I have to complete the information like disconnecting the power, putting it in read-only mode... Hello everyone, I have an Epson Stylus SX405 wifi, it took me 21 days to install it, I just plugged my Ethernet cable into the red port of the live box and it worked. Now my problem is that it says the printer is not ready and that the cartridges are empty, even though when I click on one of the different tests offered, it works.. rrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm going to throw it out of the window.....

as for me, the installation went well, the Wi-Fi access point is a Livebox.
The problem is that sometimes the printing is not complete; I can print 10 pages without issue, but the next time I try to print 2 pages, it only prints half of the first page. In short, sometimes it doesn't print everything and stops randomly.
I will try connecting the print server via Ethernet, and if that doesn't work, I'll connect the printer directly with a 10-meter USB cable.
If anyone has an idea, I'm open to suggestions.
I think the problem either comes from the print server or the Livebox...

So, this topic had saved my setup back when I acquired my DX9400F, and two months ago I deleted the link from my favorites.

Fifteen days ago, the Livebox crashed, after six years of renting and in light of Orange's refusal to give me a new box, I went out and bought one for €59, but the problem is it has a different firmware, so I had to redo all the network settings!!

I have one PC and two laptops, all running Windows 7. It was a hassle until I found this topic again; after following Keiko71's instructions, everything works!

Except that the printer doesn't show up in the Livebox 2 menus! I didn't have to pair it or anything, isn't that strange?
