Hello,
I finally managed to set up my printer via Wi-Fi with my Neuf Box on Windows Vista.
Here is the solution hoping not to have missed anything.
If I made any mistakes in describing the solution, please excuse me in advance.
Sorry for the length of the post, but it was necessary.
- Install the printer without Wi-Fi
- MFP Manager: uncheck automatic release
- Connect the Edimax box to the PC with an ethernet cable (the WLAN light should be blinking)
- Use Server Manager in the Edimax directory to recognize the print server
- Select it
- Click on the gear icon
- Click on TCP/IP and choose static IP and save
- Click on Wireless and manually assign the wireless network
- Choose the security mode identical to your Box, as well as the algorithm and the key
- Click Next
- Choose to configure IP manually
- Click Next
- Save
- Unplug the ethernet cable and the server should remain in memory in MFP Manager
- In Windows, open Control Panel
- Then networks
- Set up a wireless connection
- Connect manually to a wireless network
- Give it any name
- Choose the security mode identical to your Box, the encryption (=algorithm above) and the key
- The network appears in Manage wireless networks
- Move it down (blue arrow) to place it below the box
- Connect the Edimax box to the printer with the USB cable and turn on the printer
- Then select Add Printer
- Network, wireless
- Select The printer I want isn't listed
- Select Add by TCP/IP address
- Enter the IP address displayed in MFP manager
- Click Next
- Choose your printer
- Click Next then test page
There you go, I hope this solution helps more than one, because I've been trying for 2 weeks and I truly believed I was going to give up.
