Hello,
I have an HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-one printer that is giving me a problem I can't solve:
1) It disconnected by itself
2) It displays a message on the small screen saying "Ink system failure with error number 0xc18a0201. Turn off then turn back on."
I tried to reprogram and reformat the printer using the installation CD, I even turned off the firewall, and I even got a nice Worm32 as a bonus; but it still doesn't work.
There is ink. So I don't understand anything. It worked for two days for my copies by pressing the copy button without any problem.
Currently, I have been stuck since yesterday without understanding why.
I tried to contact the manufacturer online, but I received no procedure or response to my problem.
Can someone please help me?
Thank you in advance.

Here is a response obtained from HP service; it worked for me.
The step is more effective. Good test.
I invite you first, Mr. Pimet, to follow the steps outlined below:
Step I: Initialization
- With the printer powered on, perform the following operations:
- Remove the cartridges, lower the latches, and close the access door.
- Unplug the power cable and wait for the printer to completely turn off.
- Plug the cable back in and wait until the message "insert cartridges" or a similar message appears.
- Inspect the copper contacts and the contacts inside the cartridge slot to remove any ink or debris (Do this with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth).
- Insert the cartridges.
- Turn off and then turn on your printer using the "power" button.
Step II: Total Reset
Note: this operation will clear your machine's memory (pending jobs, etc.)
- Unplug the power cable from the printer.
- Press and hold the "HELP" and "OK" buttons on your machine simultaneously.
- Now plug the power cable back in while continuing to hold the buttons from the previous step.
- The screen will then display the message "CLEARING DRIVE" or a similar message will appear. You can then release the buttons.
- You can turn your machine back on.

Thanks for thinking of the other poor souls stuck with the computer by sharing "The Savoir"!
