Hello,
I am trying to connect my PSP Slim&Lite to a network in infrastructure mode. I go to network settings, scan, and obtain the name of my network. I enter it, and everything goes smoothly until I'm asked for my security key. I eventually find it (after flipping my PC and modem to locate it under the latter). I enter it on my PSP in WPA-PSK(TKIP) with and without spaces. I continue without any issues. It asks me to save the settings, which I do without any problems. It offers to test my connection; I try it, and a message appears on the screen saying it is loading. I wait, and then a second message appears saying:
"A connection error has occurred.
Unable to establish a connection with the access point.
Check the network security settings and try again.
Connection name XXXXXXXXX
SSID XXXXXXXXX "
So I’m calling for help, a SOS. I hope someone knows the solution.

and to get into the details:
To set up the internet on your PSP, you need to follow these steps:
Tutorial for the Orange Livebox and Inventel:
First, put your Livebox into association mode by pressing the button 1 located at the back of the modem: a light, that on the left, should start flashing. Next, switch your console's Wi-Fi mode to On (raise the button on the left side). A green light should indicate that the operation is proceeding correctly. After that, turn on your PSP, go to network settings, select infrastructure mode, and then choose Scan. Your system should therefore detect your Wi-Fi connection. After that, do not make the mistake of selecting WPA as the key protection type, but rather WEP. Enter the WEP key, which consists of a series of 26 numbers and letters. Do not take into account spaces or hyphens, and simply enter all these numbers and letters consecutively, without separation. Choose automatic mode for the rest of the tabs. Save, then test your connection. Normally, everything should proceed smoothly.

I had the same problem, so I repeated the operation by selecting the different types (both WPAs and the WEP) of keys possible on the PSP, and it worked. The two WPAs weren’t working, and it’s the WEP that works (yet it’s indicated on the box that the key is of type WPA (TKIP)...).
Eleana is right, whether it's Inventel or Orange, connect to your PSP and make a new connection, then quickly press the button 1 located on the back of the Livebox, and you're good to go!
This is the best solution!

Hi everyone!! I'm here to shed some light on things :p So to unlock the security and connect to the Livebox with the PSP, you need to configure the PSP as mentioned before, but above all, you need to configure the Livebox to allow the PSP to connect to it. To do this, go into the Livebox configuration and find a menu where you can enter the IP addresses of the devices allowed to connect to the Livebox, and enter the PSP's IP address—it's as simple as that... After that, if it doesn't work, I don't know how to help you, so good luck ++
PS: To see the IP/MAC address of the PSP, go to system settings --> system information ;)

Good evening,
The key under the Livebox is a WEP key and not a WPA key.
So either you can enter a WEP key into your console, or you choose a WPA key, in which case you will need to reconfigure the Livebox and the computers connected via Wi-Fi to this Livebox.

Hello, yes I've already done that but I'm getting a connection error, the timeout has expired...
Can you help me urgently, I'm doing it right now. Thank you very much in advance.

I found the solution!
If there's a connection error, it's because you're not using the correct security key. In fact, the PSP only works with the WEP key, while your Livebox is using WPA. To change the Livebox key to WEP, you need to go to the Livebox manager. Here’s the link to access the manager: http://192.168.1.1 Then, you need to enter the username and password. You should use "admin" for both (username and password). Once you’ve done this, select the "configuration" tab, so you can see all the information about your Livebox. In the "general" section, the mode should be set to "b/g/n". Change it to "b/n". After that, in the security mode, change WAP to WEP. That's it, now you just have to connect with your PSP using the WEP key (you'll find the code written on the back of the Livebox); then choose "easy" and test the connection: it should work normally.
There you go, after this process, you should normally have internet on your PSP.
See you later!

It is possible that some protections on the Livebox complicate matters.
You need to go to 192.168.1.1 on your PC to manage the device.
Then make sure you are using WEP security and that it matches what you entered in the PSP.
Finally, there might be MAC address filtering enabled, so either disable it or add the MAC address of the PSP that you will find in its system information.

Hello, during the Wi-Fi scan on your PSP, you need to press button 2 (or 1, I don't remember) located on the back or underneath your Livebox.
You need to put it in "ASSOCIATION" mode.
Refer to the Livebox user manual ;)

You need to enter the Wi-Fi key from the Livebox into the PSP and then save the settings.
Once the connection is saved, you should proceed to test the connection. Before doing that, you need to press the button 1 on your Livebox, and only then can you test this connection. Be careful, you have only 5 minutes to do this.

Hello,
I had the same issues and I finally found a solution for myself.
The key is to know what the security mode is during the connection setup.
The console will notify you automatically (WEP, WPA, etc.).
Then, make sure not to change this mode, otherwise the connection will inevitably fail.
Type in the Wi-Fi key and everything will take care of itself.
I hope I was able to help you.
Have a great day everyone.

Poyok, I did everything you said but it doesn't work, it shows me: a connection error has occurred. The connection time to the access point has expired.
What should I do? Please help me, please please please please.
Thanks in advance.
If error messages appear, just follow the steps below:
On any Livebox:
_ Go to the Internet Manager ---> then "Livebox" in the top bar of the manager.
_ Click on the "Configure" section at the top of the page that opens, then "Wireless Connection" in the categories listed on the left of that same page.
_ Log in ---> ID: admin PASSWORD: admin (the default PASSWORD is this one if you haven't changed it)
_ In the security key section, choose a "WEP" key and not "WPA," which is the default.
_ Then save.
You can then close this page.
Now continue the tutorial to connect your PSP:
_ Go to "Network Settings" then "Infrastructure Mode."
_ Then "New Connection" and then "Scan."
_ Choose your box and continue by selecting the "WEP" key [Make sure to choose it!].
_ Then choose an address configuration as "Easy."
_ Choose the connection name you want ---> Validate and save the settings.
_ Test your connection and it's good!
That's it @ See you!
