Question

Hello, I know there are a lot of topics on this subject but I have read many and can't find my problem so I'm posting.

Well, my problem is with wifi (didn't test ethernet or USB) on both my PC and my PS3, so it comes from my livebox and not the PC ;)

The issue is that (usually) the first time I turn on my livebox for the day (I turn it off at night to save power) it disconnects either every 10 minutes or every hour most often, making it impossible to play online or download properly (I have a txt file of an interrupted download every 5 minutes, if you could show me how to share it with you ;) )

For the record, when I play Call Of Duty 4 or during the disconnection (it doesn't disconnect me from the Playstation Network!!!) they show the message "unknown command xinvitepartymygrateafterround" well, something like that ^^'.

So, afterwards I unplug and replug the livebox, I wait 3 minutes for it to start up (it's long when you're gaming xD) and sometimes there are no more disconnections or at worst it disconnects every 10 minutes -_-'' there you go :/

I thought it was due to "noise" or CRC but I know absolutely nothing ^^''

But you have to catch it when it disconnects :/

For precision, I noticed (when listening to a web radio) that when it cuts out the first time it doesn't resume the music and when it cuts out the second time it does resume it (IP turning issue? (I really know nothing xD)).

Then when I play COD4 on PC, every time there is a disconnection I can't even reconnect with my account, as if I was already online (my IP would be stuck there but not me xD)

I, like 95% of Orange users as an ISP, have regular sort of micro-cuts in Wi-Fi, which results in making all online games unplayable, whether they are FPS, RTS, or MMORPGS.
The micro-cuts disconnect the user from the game server they are on each time.
Having searched for weeks for a solution to this problem, I realized that THE ONLY CHANCE YOU HAVE OF HAVING A STABLE CONNECTION to play or watch videos online without it crashing every 10 minutes is to CONNECT VIA ETHERNET, AND NOT WIFI:

I’m not technically savvy, but the fact is that ORANGE'S WIFI MODE IS ANYTHING BUT RELIABLE (except for a few rare lucky individuals). It’s undoubtedly terrible, let's be honest =)

In Ethernet mode, with a good old cable plugged directly into the Livebox, YOU CAN PLAY WITHOUT MICRO-CUTS, at least for many of you.

And if you cannot access your Livebox via cable, I’m afraid you will never find a solution to your problem. SWITCH ISPS.

In fact, that’s what I’m going to do starting next week, so I’m starting an all-out war against the Orange ISP. I plan to post this message on as many forums as possible where this famous question of micro-cuts is raised, and believe me there are quite a few... I’m doing this out of altruism and not to ruin Orange.

If you are also a gamer or a heavy internet user and you know what I’m talking about, help me warn those who have not yet chosen their ISP or to open the eyes of those who have already made the mistake of choosing Orange :D

Actually, the cable is on another PC that my mother uses, and I don't do any online gaming or anything on it, I don't touch it. Furthermore, it works half the time, but I think it will be the same because it also happens on the digital TV (a 2-second cut in the picture and sound, then it resumes).

I forgot to mention (so many things to say ^^') that it started happening since I unplugged the livebox during an update. Well, yeah, I can't get internet anymore, and it was the first update in 2 years ^^'

with the internet it's not too annoying (except for videos) but it's really a pain with online gaming !!

and the same goes for no disconnection from the PlayStation Network.

so it's really these micro cuts that cause the disconnection from the game servers.

help please !!!!!!!!

Problem from the update 3202_26014A that is ruining the firmware of the Sagem Livebox... the Wi-Fi among other things, but it's bugging just as much over Ethernet... it disconnects especially with BitComet running, even if it's only downloading at 50kb/s...

Reminder on the disconnections: now the diode blinks during a disconnection for about 1 minute... pay for your synchronization -_-'

Hi, so I have the same problem, except I've been with Neuf for almost 2 years.
There are occasional disconnections but not too serious, a phone call and they try to fix it.
But for the past 3 days my Neuf-Box has been acting up, impossible to access a webpage or a game because even though the @ button is active, there are micro-cuts online every 1 to 2 minutes.
I would like to know how to fix this problem to see if it's my PC or the internet.

I confirm! Ethernet cable = the only solution! The only place where I get stable WiFi is the countryside with Orange :laughing:  With that, good luck!

Uh.. personally those micro-cuts disconnect me from everything..
Indeed, my PS3 and computer are both connected via ethernet to my livebox and that doesn't prevent me from getting disconnected from PSN on my PS3 and consequently from the internet on my computer. My "@" light is flashing orange and comes back after 1-15 minutes depending on its mood.. as well as my phone which disconnects.. (so calls via mobile = non-free waiting... great for out-of-bundle fees!)
Of course, I called Orange (by the way, I ended up with a guy who was talking to his friends and couldn't care less about me (basically I asked him if he could hear me and that it's not super cool because I'm paying while he chats about the weather) and after calling back (including 10 minutes of waiting on the phone twice) I ended up with a woman who kindly asked me to call during a problem (sometimes I think they’re lucky I’m not next to them). Anyway, my case is being referred to an expert (thanks to the third person from Orange after another 13 LONG minutes of waiting).. I'm waiting for a response but seriously, it’s unbearable; today it happened to me 5 times with the longest outage being 15 minutes..
I’m not playing an online game anymore but I do use the internet for my training, MSN, etc., and I also play online on RE5... so obviously it’s really not great at that level..

I assure you, with the Livebox 2 it's the same story. These microcuts are quite frustrating. I'm going to call the hotline, but first, they need to resolve my TV issue (Canalsat) grrrrrrrr.

Anox,  If your "@" diode is blinking, it's not just micro cuts... Micro cuts last a tenth of a second, and they disconnect the connection (Online games = Awesome -_-")

It might be a synchronization problem; when it cuts off, let us know if it's synchronized or not.

Same problem as you: Livebox Sagem! And to say, I know someone who doesn't use a Sagem but is with Orange and for him, it works (badly because he doesn't know how to manage his computers and connections, but it works ^^)

Anyway, the ETHERNET works! No lost connection.

Otherwise, I recommend League Of Legends, the only online game where you can reconnect to the game when you get disconnected :D

I'm considering switching to Free, if someone knows if it's stable... I don't want to get caught again ^^

since my outburst two years ago, I left Orange and I have no regrets;
I switched to Free.
great quality connection, just a few random updates now and then but nothing bothersome (says the heavy gamer)

never any micro-cuts with the wifi and good speed (12 meg), even with the HD TV on (and yet I live in a hole).

Hi everyone, I also have this issue with my Livebox... mini cuts of a few seconds... pfff so for 4 hours I can play perfectly, while sometimes I can have 3 or 4 cuts in an hour...

Is it just Orange that has this mini cut problem?
Because I'm really starting to get fed up, it's impossible to play online properly whether on the laptop or the PS3. And running a 50m Ethernet cable doesn't interest me much.

It's 2011 and Orange still has these problems, nothing is resolved... pff
