Hello,
I am considering buying a PlayStation 3 in the next few days.
I have heard that the console is not compatible with 50Hz televisions, is that true?
If so, is there a way to make the console work with it or do I have to get a 60Hz TV?
Thank you for the information,

Hi, this is nonsense. You can, but the only problem you will have is with the Blu-ray disc. When you put one in, you'll get a black and white screen; it does the same thing to me. The TV is not powerful enough; it's normal. That’s all.
Hello !
I just got a PS3 and it runs very well on my 60HZ CRT! Highly recommended! Exceptional graphics even on an "old gen" TV.

I had the same problem with a HYPSON CRT TV; this can sometimes occur with a TV that is too old, or if the settings haven't updated properly when changing TVs, for example... However, there is a "trick" to solve this problem:
1) Check the connections (you never know...)
2) Turn off the PS3 (using the switch at the back) and then turn it back on.
3) Start the console by holding down the power button (the one located at the front of the PS3) for more than 5 seconds. There should be two beeps: one for power-up (normal) and the other (after holding for 5 seconds) informing you that the PS3 has reset the display settings.
At this point, the menu should normally appear on the screen, and you just need to adjust the various display settings.
If the screen remains black, try the procedure on another TV:
4) If there’s still nothing: the problem must be with the console, use your warranty :p
5) If it works on another TV: then the problem is with your TV, consider replacing it ^^'

Hello, the problem is rather simple and it seems like you've already answered it but the catch is that it doesn't work...
Right now I'm at a friend's place and he has a 50Hz TV, I have sound but no picture, I've already tried the thing with the beeps but it still doesn't work, so I wonder if it's me or if I'm doing it wrong, we want to play a game right now while I'm writing this
Thanks in advance for the potential solution to come!!

Salut, I’m thinking of buying the PS3, but my TV is quite old. I would like to know if there will be a difference in the graphics of the console, PLEASE! I’m afraid they’ll look awful, you know!! Thanks in advance!!
Hey, of course the graphics won't be up to par^^ to make the most of it, you'll need an HD TV; you'll be disappointed on an old TV.

I was considering buying the PS3, but the problem is I looked behind the PS3 Slim and there was no SCART connection for my CRT TV. What can I do to connect my PS3 otherwise?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Bonjour, je souhaite obtenir des informations. J'ai acquis une PS3, cela dit que je veux lire un jeu, le jeu ne se met pas en route, je ne comprends plus rien, aidez-moi s'il vous plaît :(
Pù*$^n they're not serious..... over a year since it was released and still no concrete games....
and as if we hadn't paid enough for it (I'm not even thinking about the new packs 200€ cheaper) well they're quite bad for leaving bugs like that!!
^^
they don't make me laugh anymore.....

The Play3 is compatible everywhere; it's just that to achieve the best graphical rendering, you need to own an HD TV or ideally a FULL HD TV.
50Hz is the European frequency for most TVs. Depending on the brand, it can be increased to 60Hz, which is the American frequency. Then, the latest flat-screen from Sony with Bravia technology operates at 200Hz, but after that, the eyes can't see the difference!!! To get back to what VortX said, the most powerful PLAY 3 is the one from 2007.

I would like to know if my PlayStation 3 could work on a 50-inch TV.
