Hello,
Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum, but I'm asking my question anyway; if needed, I can move it. So, I have a new computer with the Vista operating system and I have a big problem: I can't download anything. Is this normal? Can I do something? Thank you for your help!!!
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.11

    evening

    try
    in firefox
    tools
    options
    general
check the box "show the download window"

otherwise maybe a problem with your firewall...

    see you

Hello everyone, I also have a downloading problem with Windows Vista. When I try to download programs from télécharger.com, a warning message says that the security settings are not correct to download. I looked in the control panel security and then in internet options, I adjusted the security settings, and nothing works; if someone could help me, that would be nice.

Resolution of the problem if you connect via Wi-Fi with a laptop, you need to know what router you have in terms of megahertz options. You will obtain limited power; in this case, get as close as possible to the router in order to download, since a 10 MB file is extremely large and could result in a loss of bandwidth.

Hello, I've never had this problem even though I'm on Vista too. However, if someone knows about uTorrent on Vista, it would help me a lot because I've configured everything for this software but nothing works!!! It won't start even though the ports are open, etc.

    Thank you for your help.

I have the same problem as sundae... I was downloading normally but for the past week, I can't download any file, whether it's software or a simple Word document! The window opens but it always gets stuck at the end and the hourglass keeps spinning... it's really very frustrating, help me! (I have already tried disabling my firewall and antivirus but nothing works)

Same problem as you, for about the same time... Have you found a solution? So far there is no fix available. From what I understand, it's an issue with Windows Defender that refuses to create an image file on the hard drive. I'm starting to consider buying a big apple...

On Vista, there is a setting to correct: open the control panel, then firewall, as it might prevent downloading files.
Go to the control panel, open the Vista firewall, and in the menu, there are sections to check for Peer-to-peer options and allow downloads. Do not use any firewall other than Vista's, as it is very effective for security.

Hello everyone, I have a downloading issue with Windows Vista. When I download a program from download.com, a security message appears saying that the security settings are not correct. So I go to Internet options and then to the security control panel, and nothing works. Help me please, this is a message to all the computer enthusiasts or simply to those who have found the solution. Alright, bye guys—when I say guys, I mean women too, it's just a way of speaking.

    Good evening,

I respond to everyone who has download issues with Vista and IE7, I solved this problem by doing 2 manipulations:
1- delete the file activetoolbar.dll (infection) located in c:\windows\system32\

    and especially

2- download navilog from El Mafioso (using Firefox because it doesn’t work with IE7) and run it, looking for the installation procedure of navilog under Vista (a few more steps than for XP).

After restarting your PC everything works again, downloads are fine.

    Bye, see you later.

I'm also having a download problem. I can download some things, but not others, and for those, it gives me a message like:

C:\Users\Florent\Downloads\burnout_paradise_demo_pc_JeuxVideo.com_14071.zip cannot be saved because the source file cannot be read.

Please try again later or contact the server administrator.

Whereas with XP I could do it.

And I have WinRAR, by the way, which I downloaded. So I really don't see how to fix the problem. (I'm not very good with computers either.)

    Hello everyone
I had the same security issue on Vista and I just found the solution.
    Control Panel.
    Internet Options: open
    tab "security": reset to default.
    Restart the browser.
It works (at least, for me anyway)

I have exactly the same problem. At first, I was downloading normally, but now it stops on the "temporary files" window and it gets stuck. It seems like it continues to download, but it's not... Help!! It's really frustrating!!!

Le terme "téléchargement" se réfère au processus de transfert de données d'un serveur ou d'un ordinateur distant vers votre propre appareil, souvent via Internet. Cela peut inclure des fichiers, des programmes, des images, ou tout autre type de données.
