Freebox HD TV picture flickering

Question

Hello,
I have a Freebox HD installed in 2006, connected to my Samsung LCD TV via SCART, and while everything generally works perfectly, I sometimes experience a jumping image problem.
For example, and this is the most common case, when there is a show that displays photos, or when there is a red background in a program, it jumps! Annoying... and I don't have a solution to the problem.

image present but with numerous image jumps....what to do? should I leave the scart connected...either way it's the same I've tried. so for now I'm switching back to non-hdmi mode...and I'll wait for a solution thanks

Hello,

In the Freebox interface, try changing the ping settings. If you haven't touched anything, it should be on "standard." Set it to "Serenity."
However, you need to wait until the next day because the changes apply around 1-2 AM.

But... I'm really bad at computers and I don't understand much of what you're explaining to me... Ping, the interface, ouch, it's all Greek to me.

No problem.

Go to: https://subscribe.free.fr/login/
In the login, enter your phone number and the password you should have received by mail.

Then click on the link "Ping Settings (fastpath)", and there you choose the "Serenity" mode. And you confirm.
You will have to wait until the next day, as the changes apply between midnight and 2 AM.

Test the TV again, it should be much more stable.

I have the same problem. I switched to serenity mode and it doesn't change anything.
On certain plans, it skips. Changing the camera and it goes back to normal!!! Inexplicable
I have a Samsung PS42C7HD plasma screen... is that the problem?

That's exactly what's happening at my place... and switching to serenity mode didn't solve anything either. Would using an HDMI cable change anything?

It's coming from your screen.
I have a Samsung screen that's 82 cm and I have the same problems as you.
When there's a very red image, or intense light blue (like the health magazine on France 4), the image skips.

I've tested it on several connections: Livebox and Freebox, it's the same.
I have a friend who also has a Samsung and he has the same problem.

I don't have any solutions, actually, I'm looking for one, I'll come back here if I find it ;)

Yes, that's exactly it! My problem is mainly with the red... The Grand Journal, on Canal +, every time a photo is shown (album cover, book, photo of someone, etc.), the image skips.
I'm counting on you to figure it out!!! I've given up. However, I will try with an HDMI cable...

I have exactly the same problem since I got my TV nearly a year ago (Samsung LE32R73b). I'm dealing with it, but I really hope a savior will come with a solution...
I'm fed up with not being able to watch the Sunday team or anything else because the picture starts jumping and we can't see or hear anything.

I just received the Freebox HD (I previously had the V4), and I have a problem:
I’m getting alternating image/black screen/image on TV channels.. I don’t understand. I have properly connected the SCART cable, moved the two boxes apart (interference?), changed outlets, changed display settings... nothing works. I even tried the coaxial video output, and it’s the same.
I just ordered an HDMI cable, but I'm skeptical...

Hello,
the same problem as the others regarding the image jumping according to the colors displayed on my Samsung LCD LE26R82B
However, I've noticed something STRANGE
Turning on the LCD
then turning on the HD (I've tested in all ways and it doesn't change anything)
and the remote control doesn't work for about 10 minutes, then it works fine.
Remote control changed 3 times with a complaint to Free
but the problem persists

my setup:
Freebox -> HD box via Wi-Fi (tested in Wi-Fi and RJ45)
LCD -> HD box (tested via Peritel and HDMI)
Freebox V5 on a dedicated electrical outlet
HD box on a dedicated electrical outlet
Samsung LCD TV LE26R82B on a dedicated electrical outlet

Do you have the same problem with the remote control?

I had the same problem: the image of some channels was "jumping" and it was impossible to watch them... Quite annoying, especially for TF1!

I followed the advice from a response posted on another question and everything is now working perfectly normally.

Good evening, I have the same problem at home, except that for me, the picture jumps even when there are no intense colors, blue, red, or otherwise. A few months ago, it started to jump occasionally, then more and more often, and finally, it was jumping constantly, and the lag was continuous. A technician sent by Free came to my home and said that the HD box was... defective. I got a new one, and the problem disappeared, only to come back after a few months TT_TT. I don't know what to do anymore; I've tried everything: changing the PING to serenity mode, switching the two freeplugs, rebooting the HD box, hard rebooting, I set my screen to 4/3, I elevated the HD box (which, by the way, heats up a lot underneath), I have an HDMI connection, in short, nothing works and I'm really starting to lose patience. The only thing that could be causing a problem is that the connection of my television and my HD box to the electrical outlet is done through a double socket: I have no choice, I can't do otherwise.

So I will have to call the Free assistance service for the umpteenth time, and once again be made to list everything I can try to resolve the issue, everything I've already done, twice.

Hello,

I received the FreeBox HD yesterday: the model with the two freeplugs.

I connected a simple 19" flat PC monitor,
with an HDMI cable on the FreeBox side -> DVI on the Monitor side.

The image was constantly flickering, except in the options or some channels.
(image -> black screen -> flickering -> image -> black screen again...)

In the Settings -> Display of the TV box, I set the following options:
- Output: RGB
- Format: 4/3
The image is still flickering.

Then I set the HDMI resolution to 480p60
The image no longer flickers!!!!

Probable cause of the flickers therefore:
When one of the 3 parameters Output/Resolution/Format is in Automatic mode,
the FreeBox keeps trying to find the right setting and chooses the wrong one.
The monitor goes into standby mode (black screen) to avoid being damaged.

Try setting all the parameters to something other than automatic mode.
For me, there are no more image flickers or black screens.

Just put the Freebox HD on its side, it overheats, the heat rises, so their ventilation on the side isn’t very effective.  I hope I've been the savior +

Astonishing...
I have a Freebox HD, my video box is connected via network.
Recently, my ADSL box crashed, and I got the connection back after 72 hours (that's not the problem)

I got my connection back and now, the image jumps without sound, but only via HDMI (whether in the menus or on TV channels)

My video box sends the image in SD to my bedroom (no problem there) but via HDMI (living room TV) the image jumps, even though I haven't touched anything... after spending a lot of time fiddling with the settings...

I just had to switch the video box to another HDMI port on my TV...
