Corsaire Or Solved/Closed

Question

Hello, I have the game: Corsaire Gold new. Required configurations Win 95, 98, Me. I have Win XP. The game installs but does not start. Is there a solution? Thank you

1/ Copy the entire contents of your Corsairs CD to a directory on your hard drive, it doesn't matter which one.
2/ Copy INTRO and PRM into the CORSAIRS folder
3/ Replace Corsairs.exe in the CORSAIRS folder with the "MARS 2003" patch (I don't know why, but April 2003 seems to be buggy)
4/ Follow the instructions on vlh256's site to modify the CD access codes
5/ Set the ENTIRE directory to "Read-only" unchecked
6/ Go to Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, Program Compatibility Assistant
7/ Select the new Corsairs.exe
8/ Set the properties to "For Windows 98" and "256 colors"
9/ Check Confirm the changes

According to him, there's no need to play a music with Windows Media Player anymore, I still need to do that even after doing this, but maybe it depends on the users.

Hi, If it's an old game, it is very likely that it won't work on XP!  We need to see if there are any patches available.

So it's very simple, actually. Once you have inserted the CD into the drive, you right-click and open it. Then you right-click on setup, go to properties, then compatibility, and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and there you select Windows 98, and then it will work.

Hello, I had some big problems with Corsairs, but in the end, after doing some research (for about 3 hours), I managed to solve it.
How did I do it? Well, I followed the instructions at this address http://vlh256.free.fr/corsxp.htm. Then, like many players, the manual boarding wouldn't work.
To make it work, it's really simple ^^ (you won't believe me) you just need to play some music with
Windows Media Player before launching Corsairs.

Good evening, after trying the suggested solutions, I'm unable to get it to work. The game launches until I choose a nation and at the moment of confirming, it crashes.

What a shame, and it's hard to go back to '98 for just one game :(

I've also had a strong urge to replay that old game.
But despite following all the steps to install it manually, it's impossible to complete any mission; once the nationality is chosen, the book closes with the game and the wonderful message that everyone loves, "Corsair Gold has encountered a problem and needs to close," appears endlessly...

So if anyone has managed to solve this problem, I'd like them to share how to do it in turn.

Hello,To play Corsaire, you need:--> Windows 98--> The game Corsaire--> Microsoft Virtual PC (Free)Then virtualize Windows 98 on your XP, Vista, or Seven.As soon as your virtualization is ready, install Corsaire on your virtual machine.That way, there's no need to cut anything, I don’t know what, I don’t know where.NB: No one would have the Corsaire Gold CD; mine is all scratched, and I can’t install it anymore. I even asked the person who manages the Microids site to put a link to download it, but he replied that he wouldn’t do anything because the game doesn’t run on XP;-(
