Disc-at-Once function issue Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,

I am using Nero 6.0.0.11 to burn my files. It burns CDs very well. It works great with Verbatim DVD+RWs, but every time I try to burn Verbatim DVD+Rs, I'm nearly pulling my hair out!

Message at the end of the burn at 100% (so when everything is supposed to be fine!):
:the burn failed at 4x, cannot perform Disc at Once

But I have no choice at the beginning, it sets itself automatically.
And the irony is that when I continue a multisession with Nero, it finds on the DVD what it had burned, while Windows of course sees only a blank disk!

I should mention that I have the correct ASPI, and even the firmware has been updated, I believe. My IDE drivers are from Microsoft from 2001.

I have very little hair left on my head due to this recurring hair-pulling... PLEASE help me! :)

Hello everyone
I encountered the same problem as you and I read all your responses.
For my part, I simply changed my burning mode.
Let me explain. Nero Burning ROM / Create a data DVD /
Once it's launched, choose your movies. Once ready to burn, go to burn
then a window opens. Go to multisession and check the box to start a multisession disk
then start the burn. A new window appears, select burn in multisession.
Wait for the end of the burn and voilà, the burning is successfully completed without disk at once. Simply because multisession is designed for multiple movies on one DVD.

I just bought my burner (Philips) and I can't do anything with it because of this disc at once, yet it should normally be compatible with + and - so there’s no issue but it’s not working.

Help us!

I want to try the ID thing but how do we do that?

On the motherboard (ASUS P5B), the PATA IDE is managed by a third-party chip (not integrated into the INTEL chipset) from Jmicron. Like everyone else, I installed all the drivers available on the supplied CD. And bam, NERO refuses to burn in disc-at-once and more specifically, as mentioned above, in multi-session.
After many attempts and other tinkering, I removed the driver specific to the Jmicron controller (In Device Manager, you just need to delete the controller) and forced the reinstallation of the Microsoft driver called "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller," and there you go, burning works normally again.

I believe this method should apply to all third-party IDE controllers.

Hello everyone, I also have this problem, disk at once is really a hassle. I've never had this issue before, I've been dealing with this for a few months now and yet I haven't changed the way I burn, and I've been burning the same thing for years. Not cool.

I had this problem a month ago with the DVD error disc at once
here is what I did and for me it's okay since
I went to Nero Burning and in the window that opens, I selected the burn menu / then unchecked disc at once and checked track at once
then I went to Nero Express data CD, added a file, continued, and in the last window where you set the speed on the left, I unchecked disc at once and checked track at once, and since then I haven't had this issue in Nero Vision when creating a DVD.

Hello guys, for anyone having problems with burning, especially with disc-at-once, I have the answer!!! Actually, someone a bit higher up gave the right answer... it's definitely the JMICRON causing the issue. Go to Control Panel/System/Device Manager, and in the list that opens, click on the tab --> SCSI and RAID Controllers

Hi, my burner is from the brand LG and my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2L. I updated the firmware of the burner to the latest version, but when I burn a DVD, it says the burn failed at 4x, unable to perform the Disc at Once function.
However, it burns CDs normally, and this issue was present before I updated the firmware.

Hello,

This is simply due to the incompatibility between the burner and the media.
Examples:
My Plextor burner, which has the latest firmware, could burn Maxdisc DVD-RWs. My Samsung burner cannot.
My Plextor burner could not burn Proformance CDs, but the Samsung burner can.

I have an Asus P5Q Pro motherboard and a PX716A burner connected via IDE/PATA
Nero 9 does the same thing but only with dual-layer DVDs...

I am using Memorex DVD+R 16x which works fine, but DVD+R DL 4x does not work
and it seems that my selected driver is Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller

Oddly enough, I have

Primary IDE Channel 3 times and Secondary IDE Channel 3 times as well, I deleted everything then rebooted
it redetects Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller and 3 times each of the 2 channels...

If I look at the properties of the channels, I see 2 times primary / secondary channel and 1 time primary channel
location 36 ...

Note: It's not just with Nero, my other burning software has the same issue with dual layers

I had the same problem until now; when I want to burn several movies onto a DVD, I simply uncheck the box "use multiple burners" on Nero 9 and, miracle, it works :D :D
