The "NO DISC" message on Panasonic (HIFI system)

Hello everyone,

I'm having a problem with my Panasonic AK 200 Hi-Fi system that I bought 13 years ago.
I've never had any issues with it and I clean it with a special cleaning CD.
I don't move it around. In short, I take great care of it and I don't use it all day long.
That said, for the past two days it has been displaying the message "NO DISC" even when there is one.
Yesterday I managed to get it to work, but it only succeeds one time out of three.
I have a thick manual, but it doesn't cover this kind of problem.
If anyone could let me know if they have experienced this kind of issue and how to resolve it, thank you!

GS

Good evening,

thank you, I will take a look.

It seems to me that I saw a small thread in the cleaning CD just now.

I will try another one that I have.

Thanks again.

Hello....

This type of cleaning CD works very well for years... but maybe yours has given up the ghost: there are small "bristles" that "scrape" the lens, they might be bent, too short.... try to straighten them, or clean them with rubbing alcohol.
