CD player of hi-fi system no longer reads CDs

Hello,

My father's Hi-Fi system no longer plays audio CDs. We use it very rarely, and this morning the player makes small noises and refuses to read any audio CDs (bought in stores), even though it worked perfectly a year ago.

It's an old Hi-Fi system (PIONEER PD-6100), and the player is original.

I tried blowing into the player, but it didn’t work; it's the same issue.

Best regards

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 10.0.2

It can detect the number of tracks on the CD but it doesn't read it, yes it gives the impression of trying to search

can it be changed on an old HI-FI system? :/

Generally, the malfunction is not immediate; some CDs are no longer read, then some tracks, and it becomes widespread... which seems to be the case here.
On older models, replacing the optical block: probably not, as the part is no longer available.
In any case, changing the optical block is quite expensive...
