    Hello.

Are you talking about the full web browser: Google Chrome? (as default browser)

Or the Google search page (as homepage)? if yes, then tell us if you use anything other than Google Chrome (e.g.; Firefox, Edge, Opera, Brave, other):

    Please give us these details.

    Hello,

    Not at all clear.

The possibility of using a browser (Google Chrome?) does not depend on the settings but on administrator rights that allow downloading and launching it as much as you want.

Each browser has a default search engine and allows you to change it.

If you cannot modify the settings of this browser to replace, for example, Bing with Google, it means that an administrator has also put in place measures to forbid it.

Or that malware is causing the browser to redirect to a third-party site, in which case, aside from a widespread virus, the first path is to reset the browser (after externally backing up its bookmarks, credentials…).

But we are only in conjecture since the “narrative” does not tell us what happens when we perform a search.
