Hello,
I downloaded the EZRemote Lite app (by Zheng Fang) for iOS, but it requires an infrared accessory, which isn’t mentioned in your article.
Is that correct? Or am I using the wrong app?
Thanks

Hello,
Some Android phone models are equipped with an infrared emitter, unlike the iPhone which does not include one. This is why the app requires an external infrared accessory to function.
As an alternative, you can look for an app that works via WiFi (if also available on your TV). You’ll find several in the App Store. To enable control, simply connect your TV and your iPhone to the same WiFi network; infrared is not required.
Hello,
It's strange, the article starts from the premise that we always have our phone in hand for fear of being a few seconds late on a SMS and is never placed on or under a cushion or elsewhere, whereas the TV remote would be systematically (mine, it seems logical to me) near the TV when it is off and on the little end table when it is on, whereas the phone sometimes stays in my office where I would hear its ringtone but not SMS or WhatsApp notifications.
Consequently, on a recent TV, its remote also controls (and even without a battery, mine is solar) all connected peripherals and smart devices if desired, but of course we cannot spoil a movie by dealing with SMS, social networks, or video content at the same time.
