Gaming PC stuck

Hello,

We bought a gaming PC from the brand Skillkorp for our son. After a first visit to customer service due to an issue during the PC setup, we retrieved the computer. The store reset the computer to allow us to redo the setup ourselves.

We are trying to initiate the configuration again tonight, and the PC crashes during the search for updates (we are just at the 4th step of the configuration). We then have to turn off the PC.

We turn it back on, and since then the PC runs but the screen remains black with the mouse showing a blue spinning circle. Nothing changes for more than half an hour. We have attempted this 3 times and the result is the same.

What can we do to try to resolve the issue ourselves without going back to customer service?

Thank you for your responses as we are lost.

Hello,

Gaming PCs have become, among other things, a fashion trend that every kid wants to snatch up, but the reality is different: a PC is not just for gaming and it requires skills. You can always try to detail the problem as best as you can, but it normally only concerns customer service.

If Windows won't start, it's either a bad installation, which is very rare, or a hardware issue that needs diagnosing.

In that case, create a bootable USB drive with Hiren's BootCD or Malekal Live, attempt to boot, and diagnose temperature, RAM, and storage.

We couldn't install anything since we were only at the 4th step of the setup. We chose the language of the PC, the language of the keyboard, we connected our box via Wi-Fi and then it crashed.

So we had to turn off the computer by pressing and holding the power button.

Then when we tried to restart it, nothing happened...

You can reinstall a system from the BIOS.

You haven't installed anything at all; you just followed the startup procedure, which was a failure.

Good evening,

If you have no reason not to contact customer service, I advise you to do so. It is neither reasonable nor logical to want to repair a new PC if you do not have the necessary knowledge, which can of course be gained after a few months or years of discovering the intricacies of computing.

Moreover, the issue resolved by customer service, which I hope they provided you with detailed (and understandable) explanations for, may have recurred or worsened (hard drive failure, processor issue, RAM memory problem, or another component).

The procedure for starting up a PC, which can be quite long and requires paying attention to requests for entering personal settings, should not be interrupted by a blockage that cannot be overcome by the user.

You have every right to want to solve this problem on your own, but that requires testing and repair tools (on DVDROM) such as Hiren's Boot or Malekal, provided you can download them (on another computer) and install them on a non-functional PC.

Also check the general terms and conditions of sale (back of the invoice) for the exchange period.

Or continue here for basic troubleshooting training.

Hello,

This brand is owned and sold exclusively by Boulanger.

Take the laptop, put it back in its packaging, and drop it off at the nearest Boulanger store. Ask for a receipt for the device drop-off in case it gets lost in customer service, you never know...

If they are unable to repair it, they will replace it or refund you, it’s as simple as that.

Make sure not to open it or touch anything; they could accuse you of having damaged it and refuse to apply the legal conformity warranty, which I remind you is 2 years.
