Hello,
I would like to connect my Galaxy A16 to my computer via USB cable. My computer doesn't recognize it, and my Galaxy is charging...
I searched online where the solution is to change the USB setting on the phone. Yes, but here's the thing, that setting is nowhere to be found, and the notification that should appear when connecting is also missing. I followed the advice to enable USB debugging, and still no phone as a device on the computer.
Does anyone have THE solution? Thank you in advance. Best regards, Patrick.

I've already had this issue with a Samsung. Often, the problem comes from the cable; some are only for charging, not for data transfer. Try using another cable (ideally the one provided with the phone or a certified data cable). Then plug it into a different USB port on the PC, and unlock your phone; the “File transfer” notification should finally appear. If it still doesn't work, install Samsung Smart Switch or the Samsung USB drivers on your computer; it often fixes the issue.

I hadn't read the last response, but I changed the cable and, miracle, my phone appears. After that, it was easy to recover my data.
In any case, thanks again to the community for showing interest in my case.
