Re Hi kaneagle

Thanks for the solution

I used PowerShell (admin)

I still have the same in Update (Your device does not have important quality and security updates)

On one hand, it might be silly to fix W10, knowing it will eventually be obsolete,

I tend to want to install W11 from RUFUS or Linux,

what do you think?

Thanks

Have you run the sfc?

If not, press Windows + X
Select --> Windows PowerShell (admin)
Type --> sfc /scannow and hit enter

A system file check will be performed.

Hello

Sorry for being so quick with the response! ! !

I was somewhere else

The check with ( Select --> Windows PowerShell (admin)
Type --> sfc /scannow and enter ) this remained the same, still the same result

I will try to install W11,

which would be preferable, W11 from Rufus or Windows Server?

I don't know much about computers! ! !

Thank you

My PC is in legacy BIOS MODE,

but does Rufus need to be set to UEFI GPT or MBR?

My PC is not compatible with Windows 11, no TPM 2.0, Secure Boot? I don't know

I bought it with Windows 7, around 2010?

I installed Windows 10 Home in May 2024, using a burned DVD retrieved from the web

thank you

Hello,

The DVD will be of no use, we need to download a Windows 11 ISO, 25H2 while we're at it; we're not sure that such an old PC has an instruction set for 24H2 and above. If we settle for 23H2 and earlier, we'll have the same problem, no more updates.

So we're not certain that it wouldn't be more reasonable to install Linux, for example Mint.

If the PC only works in Legacy BIOS mode, we can only choose MBR; otherwise, we need to set the BIOS to UEFI and choose GPT (when we've finished all other operations including downloading, otherwise, if we need to boot, it will be impossible if the disk is MBR).

Of course, after configuration, choose the option to bypass TPM.

Make sure to back up your data to another partition or external storage in case Windows refuses a simple upgrade installation.

Additionally, check beforehand on the manufacturer's site if your PC has Windows 11 drivers, the same for peripherals (printers); it can happen that there is a bit of breakage, and some software may no longer work.

Hello

Download the official 64-bit FR ISO of Windows 11 (25H2, 24H2, all versions)? ? ? Is it free? ? ?

After the so-called free installation, will the Update updates take place?

If I install it with Rufus mode without a Microsoft account! , do I still need

to sign up with Microsoft for updates afterwards?

My PC: 6 GB of RAM, 750 GB HDD

Thank you

Hello,

Just in case, check if the processor is 64 bits:

https://www.malekal.com/verifier-ordinateur-compatible-64-bits/

Otherwise, it's over; Windows 11 is only available in 64 bits; in my opinion, it's already dead in the water with only 6 GB of RAM and the rest being just as bad.

But if you want to try, check in the BIOS if it supports UEFI, depending on that create your Rufus key in GPT/UEFI or MBR/CSM mode. Rufus also allows you to bypass the lack of a TPM chip and create a local account instead of a Microsoft account, which is unnecessary for Windows Update anyway.

Downloading ISOs is free, it's the license that isn't, but it can be found online for a few cents.

At the risk of repeating myself, some old processors may refuse 24H2 and thus 25H2, leading you to revert to 23H2, which also will not be updated anymore, and it is not reasonable to install Windows 11 on such a machine anyway.

Hello

Well yes, I'm late in replying (sorry)

brucine says [Downloading ISOs is free, it's the license that isn't but can be found online for a few cents.] That's true!

I have never used a license!

I'm going to install Linux Mint

Thanks for everything
