Compatibility issue with CD playback

Hello,

For the past year, I have owned an external CD/DVD reader/burner on a PC running Windows 11. ORIGBELIE BT669 External CD DVD Reader. Until now, I haven't encountered any problems. For the past week, I am unable to read CDs. I have tried with CDs that I had already read without any issue or even copied to my PC, but the same result. I am talking about commercially purchased CDs.

I have tried VLC and Media Player, and I always get the same message 'the format is incompatible'.

    Hello,

    Gently clean the laser optics as well as the rods and slides below the optical block, using rubbing alcohol (Compound) and a cotton swab.

    However, the rods must be re-greased after cleaning, with grease labeled "Safe for plastic," such as certain lithium-based greases, so first start by finding the right grease to have on hand before cleaning this mechanical part.

    I have a test with different DVDs, the playback works normally. Only the CDs are not readable.
