Hello, I’m on Windows 10 and I know there will be no more updates starting from 14/10/2025; my computer is obsolete (15 years old) and is therefore not compatible with switching to Windows 11; I read that I could benefit from a free update until 13/10/2026; for that I needed to perform checks in 3 steps: 1) system check, it’s okay, synchronization of settings, it’s okay, 3) launching the ESU assistant, and there, I’m stuck; it was written that if my device is eligible, a specific section will indicate the end of support, with a button "sign up now" visible; but I have nothing, so I cannot proceed; I would like you to give me an answer; in any case, if it’s negative, I’ll buy a new computer; but if I can gain a year... regards and have a good weekend. (sorry, I don’t know which forum to choose).

    don’t worry; your machine will continue to work; even if the security updates for W10 will no longer be carried out

    all the more since some specialized sites (in English) speak of a possible extension of a few months

    all the more since Microsoft; according to insiders; would be ready to "ease up" on the minimum requirements so that people can more easily move to W11

    don’t forget that there are still many companies and administrations that are still running on W7

    you will simply need to be more attentive and not click without thinking

    If you want this info: we can easily upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 even on incompatible PCs... this will avoid buying other hardware.
