White stripe on Ricoh print

Hello everyone.

I hope you are doing well.

I just got a RICOH MPC2003 that works fine. 60,000 copies in total.

Just a printing quality issue. There are two white lines (so no printing) about 1 mm wide along the entire length of the page in the direction of output. If I run the same print several times, the two lines do not end up in the same place.

I have cleaned the corona wire.

Thank you for your help.

Have a great end of the day.

    Hello,

In my opinion, it would rather be a marking on the drum... it’s even the type of mark left by a staple..

A Corona wire defect would be along the entire length of the page...

The drum makes two or three rotations for the transfer of a single page... which explains the changing positions of the mark...

The remedy would be to change the drum (if it is not repairable)

Hello and thank you Jeannets for taking the time to respond to me.

So I need to find which PCU among the 4 is causing this.

But are you sure (sorry) because the lines are indeed along the length in the direction of the output of the page. And regardless of "the color".

In fact, I printed the calibration page several times. Sometimes the most pronounced line is along the length of the black column, and on the next requested page, the line is along the length of the cyan column. Weird.

Thanks again for the help and have a great weekend.

So, the perfect solution, through a forum, doesn't exist... With experience, we make suggestions on topics like this... but that's all.

A scratch made on the four drums (like a staple, for example) is still very possible.

The corona wires too... there are several all around the drums, the cleaning might not be perfect..?? There might also be a buildup of dust or toner.

Ask the previous owner... It might be the reason for their transfer..??

Thank you, Jeannets.. Unfortunately for the previous owner, it's over. Because it's a takeover of premises after cessation. Former manager vanished into thin air. This machine might not be such a great gift after all. I will inspect the PCUs more closely because I have cleaned the laser windows. In any case, do you think it's not worth checking the belt or the fusion oven? Thanks again and have a great weekend.

In my opinion, you can tell if the cooking oven is hot or not, and the anomalies are more widespread than that, throughout the entire batch...
Furthermore, at the marking location, there would be color coming out, uncured color on the paper that comes off very easily as soon as you run your finger over it.

The belt could indeed be loose... but I don't know the consequences.

Aside from these different points, these machines really appreciate thorough cleaning in all corners and a moderate air jet, like canned air.

With a gun, it should be less than 2 bar.

There you go, have a good weekend too.
