Hello everyone,

I just bought a new laptop, on the old one I had a slot for inserting a CD/DVD and I was able to install my photo software from Microsoft Works Suite, but this new PC no longer has a designated slot.

I tried transferring it from my old one with a USB stick, but the installation fails... it tells me to double-click on the installation CD, anyway it's not working. I tried downloading it online without success either and I'm hesitant to visit sites I'm not familiar with...

Is there a solution? Or a safe site to download it? I use this software a lot...

Thank you in advance

You risk not having any window by copying the installed files of software from one PC to another; it doesn't work, and that's all.

The technique in this case is to copy the original files from the CD onto a USB key or onto the PC, but if one does not invest in an external CD reader for a few euros, which could be useful otherwise, it cannot of course be done except on another PC that has a CD reader.

Therefore, it is quicker to download the software, which may not eliminate the reservations I have made about its operation on Windows 10 or 11.

Hello,

I believe that indeed the software is single-language and was replaced by Picture It Photo Premium before its disappearance, which makes it even harder to find it in French without testing here and there what the language of the offered or installed version is.

Perhaps it is integrated into Works Suite 2003, this time in French, as mentioned by bazfile in <1>, which still does not guarantee that the suite works with a recent version of Windows.

Hello @RubyAnne StatusMember.

Microsoft Works Suite has not been sold since 2007, so it may not work on recent versions of Windows; you can find it on an archive site called archive.org.

It's up to you to search for the version of the software you want to install; just make a search on the net with the name and version of the software followed by archive.org.

Example of a search:

Microsoft Works Suite 2003 archive.org

Then you just need to download the ISO image, open the ISO with a program like 7-zip, and install your software.

Hello,

A link was proposed here:

https://softradar.com/fr/picture-it/

But what this does not demonstrate, a number of tweaks are described here, that this antique works on Windows 10 or 11:

Yes, I had seen those sites but didn't dare to download from them because I don't know them... but if they are safe, I will try.

I also saw that post but couldn't manage it because the described window doesn't open for me...

I will try and come back to let you know

Thank you for your responses

Hello,

I managed to download and install Picture It!! I followed the workaround indicated and I confirm it works with Windows 11.

The only downside is that it's the English version... I couldn't find the language change option but never mind, I've been using it for a long time so I know the functions.

Thank you!
