Hello,

I have a WindowsApps folder on my external hard drive D:/ that I can't delete.
After following many tutorials and forums, using PowerShell as an administrator, I finally discovered that this folder shows me "Invalid Descriptor" as permission.

 PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Icacls.exe D:\* /reset /T processed file : D:\System Volume Information processed file : D:\$RECYCLE.BIN processed file : D:\NANOPRO processed file : D:\0-Ima processed file : D:\IT - All processed file : D:\Activités processed file : D:\MAXTOR_Trier 4To processed file : D:\_Full-Stack_Developer processed file : D:\Photos processed file : D:\zz_Print processed file : D:\Achats processed file : D:\Musiques D:\WindowsApps: Invalid Descriptor 12 files processed successfully; failed to process 1 file

Here are the details of my computer:

I don’t know what to do. Do you have any ideas please?

    Hello,

The question is why there is a WindowsApps folder on an external drive.

If it is a system folder, it is out of the question to delete it; you can at most remove individual applications, as Windows uses it for system applications (such as .NET Framework, not to mention Notepad, Calculator, Camera, etc.).

If it is not a system folder, try using Unlocker or by rebooting outside of Windows to the command line (for example, using a Windows installation USB drive).

    Hello,

    Run a chkdsk /f d:

Delete it with Ventoy and Ubuntu if possible, if necessary.

In Try mode, or Try Ubuntu
