Freebox Ultra - No connection

Hello everyone,

I just switched to Freebox to test their new box, and I have to say I am already quite disappointed. With a simple fiber connection, I'm not even reaching 1Gb.

I bought an SFP+ to try to take advantage of the theoretical 8GB, but again, I see no improvement and I can't even exceed 1GB. The Wi-Fi network is simply terrible. It's a real hassle, whereas with my previous Orange box, I didn't encounter any issues.

Moreover, I find that the SFP gets very hot, despite using a Cat 8 cable... but the quality of the network is not up to par.

I'm attaching some photos.

Could you please help me before I decide to switch back to Orange?

    Hello,

at the same time, if you connect your SFP+ 10GbaseT to a gigabit Ethernet port on your PC, you don't have to look far for the bottleneck: it's your PC's network card; don't think of the box as a magic wand that turns pumpkins into carriages: you need a 10GbaseT card in your PC to take advantage of it.

As for the Wi-Fi, the same applies; you need to see what technology you are connecting to your box.

Finally, your title is rather misleading: Where is the absence?

And there you go, voila ....

But goodness, those line spacing are so annoying!!

I don't understand what else you're asking for?

My PC is a laptop, and even though it's not compatible to receive 10GB, it should at least get 3GB like I had with my Orange box..

Here, none of the equipment is exceeding 1GB, and the Wi-Fi is deplorable compared to Orange, which ensured much better quality with Wi-Fi 6.

So yes, it is indeed absent because even if I can't reach the maximum capacity due to a lack of suitable equipment, I can't even get the minimum of what Orange offers me without having to buy additional components...

Did you have 3 Gbit/s with Orange?

With which box and which PC?

What kind of Ethernet port do you have on the PC you're talking about?

You start by criticizing Free, then you say you had better with Orange without actually saying what you really had, or anything at all.

You're not going to make me believe that Wi-Fi 7 is worse than Wi-Fi 6 on your PC just like that, you'll need some stronger arguments.
