Connection issues with Freebox Mini 4K Solved

Question

Hello everyone, forum hello  Configuration: Windows 10/ Internet Explorer 11.0  I installed a 450 GB hard drive provided by Free at the back of the Freebox mini 4K connected to an available USB port at the back and the e-SATA connector. --- Plus a 250 GB external SSD connected to the second USB port  Everything works fine EXCEPT (LOL) that when I turn off my PC and turn it back on later my two drives, which are accessible via an icon on the desktop, no longer connect and a red cross appears on both icons  Furthermore, a window pops up asking for the "Windows security" code with the message (enter network credentials).  How can I keep the network connection from dropping every time I turn off my PC PS: I am on Windows 10  Thank you for your help and shared knowledge  Happy New Year to everyone  Best regards, Ray

Hi, the easiest way is to set up network drives linked to the shares in question and connect the drives at startup.  -- and ... there you go!

Can you see the connection address in the shortcut properties on the desktop? By the way, since you don't have the connection on startup, how do you find it later?  -- and ... There you go!

Hi,

for the address, I only have this by right-clicking on the icon and properties
Disk 1 (FREEBOX_SERVER) (X)
Disk 1 is the name I gave it

so I enter my code and the connection comes back after a while and my icons no longer have the red cross and return to normal
everything works fine until the next shutdown of the PC

In fact,
you need to know the names of the network shares generated by the box, you should be able to choose them or at least see them in Freebox OS.
Then in the file explorer, you connect a network drive and enter \\MAFREEBOX\DISQUE1 or \\FREEBOX_SERVER\DISQUE1 or \\FREEBOX\DISQUE1 to see, the same goes for the other one with the other name.
You should have a checkbox to mount the drive on startup.
If prompted for a username and password, you can enter anything, since I don't think you created user accounts on your box.
You can also replace \\FREEBOX with the IP address of the box (default gateway).
and ... Voilà Voilà Voilà!

an account, since I'm the only one using the PC, no need for an account

thank you for this info, I didn't know that,

I do have this box checked (by the way, it is checked) but that doesn't change the fact that when I restart my computer, I can't find my two hard drives and the icons have a red cross instead of being available

probably something else, I'm searching online but nothing plausible for now

I tried some things but I didn’t understand anything and I don’t even know if I did it right and in the right place.
Despite that, I haven't seen any improvements and this morning when I turned on my computer, the two icons for my two hard drives connected to the Freebox mini 4k were showing as not connected with a red cross on each icon.

It’s not a big deal, I’m going to focus my research on a tutorial to try to get my subject to work.

yes, indeed I changed it, otherwise I couldn't send photos.

so I did some start/stop tests and it's working well now.

I wasted a lot of time on this issue, but the main thing is that it's good now.
