Hello community,

I tried to find answers but it’s not working. I have an error code 5,157,69 when I want to scan. The scanner selection is correct. Connected via USB.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Alain

Thank you for your response. I have already looked and it's impossible to get feedback on this error code. I type 5 and then it finds nothing!!!

It seems that this code does not come from the Scanner... But from a blockage that prevents scanning... like a Firewall or Antivirus...

To verify this, you need to unplug the USB, disconnect the printer from the wall outlet for 3 minutes, and then plug it back in...

Make a photocopy on this printer, using only the buttons on the printer... in principle, the copy works, so the Scanner should too.

By the way, does the printer work...?

-- Didn't you change your BOX recently..?

-- Or change your PC.. Or your version of Windows..?

Or something else..??

You need to check this first.

I did the manipulation, no change, still the same error

The printer works

The photocopy works

No change of PC or OS version.

Change of BOX yes, but I am on USB wired.

It's true that when connected to the PC via USB, the BOX doesn't come into play; but are you sure you're connected via USB... and not via Wi-Fi, without realizing it..??

-- Anyway, the printer works... and the scanner too... It's the PC that's blocking the scanner function, due to restrictions or security software...

-- I advise you to stop or uninstall them, at least for the time of the verification... You are on Windows 10, I believe..?? with "Bitdefender" you have what you need... and you can uninstall the rest, if that's the case...

AVG is a real disaster with these scanner issues... to be removed with the "remover" tool https://www.avg.com/fr-fr/avg-remover#pc

To become active, you need to restart the PC..

Has this scanner ever worked...? What has changed..? since when has it become blocked..?

Hello Jeannets,

Thank you for this information. I am on Windows 10 Pro 64 bits.

I have Bitdefender as my security tool but not AVG.

The scanner works well but doesn’t work anymore!!!

I don’t know if it was before or after I changed my router. Otherwise, I haven’t changed anything.

The Wi-Fi indicator on the printer is on and I can’t turn it off, I don’t know if that could be the issue since I’m using USB.

Here is exactly what it shows as an error.

Given the message panel, it seems that you are indeed connected through the BOX... It is the "ScanGear" software that displays this message; ScanGear is the scanning driver software... see on this site

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/ScanGear/W/MFP/20.0/FR/SG/sg-900.html

You could try to configure it or reinstall it...

And also stop the Wi-Fi on your BOX and print + scan, you will see if the USB connection works..?? Or not..? Because despite your USB cable, it remains very possible that the connection is made via Wi-Fi..??

-- You could also use your scanner through photo software... Even "Paint" can scan ..==>Small triangle in the toolbar==>From a scanner or camera... choose your scanner ... etc...

You must have a configuration menu for your printer..?

Otherwise, you will need to completely uninstall it... restart your PC... and reinstall it with the latest driver designed for Windows 10...

You don't have AVG... okay... but do you have something else..??
