The ALT+ numbers command is not working properly.

Hello,
When I try to type an A, an E, or a C capital letter with accents, using the ALT+ number command, it does not give me the correct symbols; instead, it gives me this:
ALT+0192 = ☻ or ALT+183 = ♥ for A
ALT+0201 = ☺ or ALT+144 = ♦ for E
ALT+0199 = ○ or ALT+128 = ◘ for C

Do you have any tips to fix the problem with my keyboard?
Note that I am on Windows 10, thank you.

If you use it regularly, you might want to install the Clavier+ tool: https://gryder.org/software/clavier-plus/?lang=en

You can assign key combinations to a letter, letters, phrases, programs ...

Great! With this little software, I'll be able to write my messages more quickly. With the simplified key combinations "win+ctrl+alt+letter," it becomes more efficient and easy.

Hello

You have installed a symbols table, it's just those from Windows 10, that's all. It's not a keyboard issue since you aren't using the letter keys.

Do you have a system restore to a date before the problem in your Windows 10?

Because I assume that simply uninstalling the only thing you installed doesn't work?

Hello,

Let's remember that the character is only produced from a numeric keypad and depends on the font used and the software in which it is used.

For instance, ALT+183 does produce the uppercase in almost all fonts unless an exotic one is used.

The first two "faulty" characters correspond to ALT+2 and ALT+3; it's more than a coincidence: the first numbers were skipped, leaving only the last one, and it remains to be seen why, perhaps a bad simultaneous press on the keys?

Exactly, it's the last key alone I'm not awake!

Oh I don't have his bug but my sticky keys aren't working properly either, it's also Win 10.

I'll check my updates to see if that's all done.

Hello,

In Notepad, we do get À É Ç; however, it's a C with a cedilla and not a C with an accent. As brucine pointed out, a numeric keypad is needed.

Hello,

I have a numeric keypad on my keyboard, and my computer happens to be a desktop PC.

Even the charmap is ineffective, the only solution is to copy and paste, but it's less quick and ergonomic than doing it directly from the keyboard.
Maybe reinstalling Windows 10? I'm considering it, but it's tedious.

Hello everyone,

On my machine (Windows 7 Pro 64 bit) and in Notepad:

ALT + 0192 = À
ALT + 0201 = É or ALT + 144 = É
ALT + 0199 = Ç or ALT + 128 = Ç
ALT + 199 = Ã

Note: the difference between 0199 and 199 does not yield the same result.

Now here, CCM (same thing):

à (alt 199), É (Alt 144), À (alt 0192),
tilde, accent aigu, accent grave
