If there's another computer at your place, try connecting to the internet on that one.
If it doesn't work, unplug the modem from the wall socket and the phone jack. Also, remove the cables from the modem and wait for a minute, then plug everything back in and see if you can get internet access.
At this point, you'll see if the issue is with the PC or not.
Make sure the password is correct (pay attention to lowercase, uppercase, and numbers).
