Hello,
Specify which printer. Usually, there is an app that allows you to scan your documents with a specific saving path.
Canon Pixma MG2450 printer, everything was working well under Windows 10, it is since the transition to Windows 11 (which I did not request) that my troubles began.
Hello,
I have a Canon TS8252, with Windows 10. It might be the same logic as yours.
There are 2 ways to scan, either with the printer connected over the network (I use the software on the PC there) or with the printer connected to a PC via USB (I start the scan from the printer's control panel there). In both cases, for me, not having changed the settings, the scanned document ends up in the Documents directory of my user account.
In the software, Canon IJ Scan Utility, with the "Param" button you can choose another directory for saving scans.
Hello,
Thank you very much for the clarifications.
But the Canon Pixma MG 2450 printer in question is connected only via USB, and does not allow scanning, only providing options for copies "in black and white" or "in color". If it does scan for copies, I don’t know how to access that scan from my computer.
I also don't know where to find the Canon IJ Scan Utility software; I would really like to be able to use it if possible.
Best regards,
It can be assumed that the downloadable software package (the second line) includes the printer management software: https://www.canon.fr/support/consumer/products/printers/pixma/mg-series/pixma-mg2450.html?type=software&os=Windows+10+%2864-bit%29
And a manual on scanning: https://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/4/0300020454/01/Scanning_Manual_Win_FR.pdf
Thank you for all these details, I will review these documents.
I can’t be very quick in these procedures due to my age!
Best regards
Hello,
After reviewing part of the documents you provided, I took a 24-hour break, and then made another attempt by going back to my printer (connected and turned on as before) from "settings," I selected "printers and scanners," then the "Canon MG 2400 series Printer," and I then had the choice between "printer settings" and "scanner settings." I opted for the scanner and this time I had 4 options including "open scanner" which I chose, and surprise, the Windows scanner appeared with the name of that printer and in the "details" I was able to write the folder to save the scan!
Everything worked very well afterwards.
Thank you again for your help, I was no longer completely isolated with my problem.
Best regards,
