Hello,
Windows needs a messaging application to send emails (file sharing for example) or to open certain files like eml files.
I don't think Gmail, which is an online application and not installed, is suitable.
Windows expects an application like Mail, Thunderbird, or Outlook. When you right-click on a file to share it (Send to > Recipient), it will call upon that messaging program.
Mail is already installed. You just need to configure it to use it, meaning entering the email addresses and associated passwords. It's automatic.
I don't recommend Mail very much as it's a minimalist application. It's better to use Thunderbird (which is also free)

You need to configure it like Mail. The setup is also automatic.Outlook is paid, provided with Microsoft Office.
Once you have installed and configured your messaging application, it will likely be recognized as the default application. If not, you can do it yourself in the Windows settings.
You don't have to change your habits regarding email management. But it's definitely simpler to go through a messaging application.
What one understands well is clearly expressed,
And the words to say it come easily.

Hello
Congratulations! Now you have 2 poorly configured PCs because Chrome has never been an email software!
You no longer have the Windows warning window since you have set a default program, but unfortunately, it's not the right program.
So if you want to send a file by email from the Windows Explorer, according to the following scheme, it's Chrome that will open! Good luck!

Hello,
Gmail (Google Mail) is an email program. As it is written "Create an association in the Default Programs Control Panel."
