Hello,

When I start my PC running Windows 10, I get the message "No email program associated.............".

I don't use any email software, but Gmail.

How can I get rid of this warning?

Thank you

      Hello.

You need to go to the settings (the small gear icon), then to "apps" and finally "default apps" (the panel on the left).

At the top of the list, there's "email messaging." Click on it and choose "Gmail" from the list.

If you can't do it, come back and tell us where it gets stuck.

        Hello,

All this does not tell us why this message comes up at startup, meaning that Windows has been asked to automatically start and retrieve (or send if waiting) emails at startup: it would be good to check which program of this type is running and why.

    Hello,

Windows needs a messaging application to send emails (file sharing for example) or to open certain files like eml files.

I don't think Gmail, which is an online application and not installed, is suitable.

Windows expects an application like Mail, Thunderbird, or Outlook. When you right-click on a file to share it (Send to > Recipient), it will call upon that messaging program.

Mail is already installed. You just need to configure it to use it, meaning entering the email addresses and associated passwords. It's automatic.

I don't recommend Mail very much as it's a minimalist application. It's better to use Thunderbird (which is also free)

You need to configure it like Mail. The setup is also automatic.

Outlook is paid, provided with Microsoft Office.

Once you have installed and configured your messaging application, it will likely be recognized as the default application. If not, you can do it yourself in the Windows settings.

You don't have to change your habits regarding email management. But it's definitely simpler to go through a messaging application.

    Hello

Congratulations! Now you have 2 poorly configured PCs because Chrome has never been an email software!

You no longer have the Windows warning window since you have set a default program, but unfortunately, it's not the right program.

So if you want to send a file by email from the Windows Explorer, according to the following scheme, it's Chrome that will open! Good luck!

You would have been better off following my instructions...

    Hello,

Gmail (Google Mail) is an email program. As it is written "Create an association in the Default Programs Control Panel."

I went to "Default Programs," and I selected "Google Chrome" because there is no Gmail.

I checked on my other PC, and indeed Google Chrome is selected as the default email client!

      Thank you :)
