No internet - Unable to reach DHCP server

Hello,

After coming back from vacation with the power cut, I wanted to restart my PC and the livebox but unfortunately, the internet via wifi no longer works.

My PC was able to connect to the internet for about twenty minutes and then the internet stopped; I have an error message saying "no internet connection."

When I click on "get help" in Windows, it tells me:

Unable to reach the DHCP server

The connection works with all other devices and any other connection works with my PC (I shared my phone's connection, it works; I connected via Ethernet, it works; I tested the wifi connection with the phones and PCs in the house, it works)

I have tried just about everything that seemed "quickly" doable:

- Turning off and on the box and the PC

- Disconnecting/reconnecting the wifi, removing the network from known networks, adding it back, etc...

- Updating the drivers

All of that without success.

Then I went for the strong method:

- Doing absolutely everything that is listed on this site: https://windows.atsit.in/fr/4314/ (except updating the router firmware)

- Uninstalling Windows and reinstalling it

- Doing everything listed on the previous site again.

The connection worked again for about 5 seconds at an extremely limited speed and then stopped abruptly.

I am a bit lost and have no idea what to do: will changing the network card solve the problem even though it works with all other connections? Should I return the livebox for another one even though it works with all the other devices in the house?

I am a bit desperate at the moment.

Hello, it's a desktop PC I suppose?
Why don't you stay connected via Ethernet, mobility isn't a criterion.
If you really care about Wi-Fi,
1/check the signal level on the card
command netsh wlan show interfaces
for example at my place:

There is 1 interface on the system : Name : Wi-Fi Description : Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz GUID : 0dd7a875-192f-4e84-b3c9-34cc6be695aa Physical address : 6e:4d:db:93:99:25 Interface type : Primary State : connected SSID  : PA2 BSSID  : 9c:53:22:32:9a:f3 Network type  : Infrastructure Radio type  : 802.11ax Authentication  : WPA3-Personal (H2E) Encryption  : CCMP Connection mode  : Automatic connection Band  : 5 GHz Channel  : 36 Received (Mbits/s)  : 1441 Transmission (Mbits/s)  : 865 Signal  : 78% Profile  : PA2 Hosted network state: Not available

And there you go...
But misery, those line spaces are so annoying!!

I would like to be able to use Ethernet, but my box (connected to fiber) is in another room than my PC. To conduct the test, I had to place my box in the middle of the living room with cables crossing the room, not ideal. The signal is at 99% on my side.

OK,
the signal level is perfect, so
try the command :
netsh interface ip reset
then restart.

For the cable, a solution

I didn't have time to place the order, this morning I turned off my livebox for 30 minutes before starting my PC and it works... Kind of. The internet connection is there but it's not very stable. I have a ping on pingtest that ranges between 16ms and 840ms with medians between 18ms and 133ms depending on the test. I'm posting my response here again because I had put it in response to the original post and there have been some changes since then. The connection being very slow, I still did the suggested manipulation but without success. The connection is still just as unstable. As for the cable, I need to think about it because the installation won't be simple with the configuration of the rooms...
