My pc doesn't detect my router but sees other networks

Solved

Hello, recently my phone that I was using for USB tethering broke down. While looking for solutions, I realized that I had a Qualcomm Atheros 9377 WiFi card, but it does not detect my router. I tried to set up a tethering connection with another phone, and I noticed that the PC detected the tethering. I attempted various fixes, but nothing works. So, I’m posting my problem on this forum hoping to find a solution. Have a good day.

    Hello,
try to configure your box to set a different SSID name for the two WiFi networks 2.4 and 5 GHz, for example yayu2 and yayu5, with the same WPA key.
Then, you'll see if one is better than the other.

    And there you go ....
But goodness, how annoying those line spacings are !!

Hello, thank you for your response. I'm not sure if this is possible on my box; it is an SFR NB6 box. Is it possible, and if so, could you explain to me how to do it?

Log in to the administration interface of your box, Wi-Fi section.

excuse me for the time taken, I couldn't access the internet. I am on my box's interface, what should I do?

You should be able to separate the 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks and give them two different SSID names. If that's not the case, did you read the link?

Are you connected via Ethernet to your box?
If you are on Wi-Fi, you will lose the connection, which is normal; you'll need to reconnect.

yes I read it but it only talks about a simple SSID change not for 2 different frequencies

It depends on the boxes, what do you see on yours?

If you have both Wi-Fi networks, it should look like the Plus box.

I can modify the SSID; there is a switch for SSID broadcasting set to on, the channel selection is set to auto, and there is a radio mode with 3 options.

validate the broadcast, set the bgn mode, the auto or 2 channel, do you not have 5 Ghz?
And does your mobile see the wifi from the box?

I validated the broadcast through channel 2, I don't know how to check if I have 5 GHz and my mobile sees the Wi-Fi from the box.

OK, so the mobile sees it, but not the PC?

    Yes, that's it

try other channels on the box, channel 11 for example, and also try forcing it to WiFi only, actually,
After research, the nb6V does not have 5GHz WiFi, it is too old,
after that, I don't know what the problem could be with your network card, it's weird.

I forgot to mention, but I have a desktop PC and the people who have this card seem to have it on laptops, so I don't know if that could be a problem.

      No,
      is it a USB adapter?
maybe its 2.4 GHz radio is down ...
when you activate the hotspot on your mobile, do you have the option to choose between 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi? Some do,
to see if the PC is not working only on 5 GHz.

No, I don't think it's a USB adapter, and yes, I can choose. I'm doing the test.

I just took the test; it detects the sharing on both frequencies.

It's getting stranger and stranger, I think you should request an exchange of your box for a newer one, a nb6 vac (it's actually a nb7, box plus) if you're on ADSL, otherwise a nb7 fiber.
Just in case, try configuring the box to b+g only to see.

        OK,
check with SFR for an exchange.

        I'm thinking about something here...
What does this card look like actually?
Because you said that before it was on a mobile phone, so with internal antennas, and what have you connected it to now?
        A PCI adapter?
Do you really have external antennas on your box?

Maybe your PC is quite far from your router?

Tomorrow I'm going to someone's place who agreed to test my wifi card and potentially lend me one. I'll see the result and make a decision. Have a good evening.

Hello, sorry for the late reply, the message wasn’t showing up. I didn’t mean to say that my Wi-Fi card was on a laptop; when I bought the desktop, it was there, but online people seemed to have it on laptops. I have the card in front of me; it doesn't have an antenna, it’s just connected to the motherboard, but it’s still detected in the device manager, and yes, my PC is a bit far from my router.

      OK,
didn't you have antennas provided with the PC?,
You should have ports to connect antennas at the back.

No, I don't have that. I didn't buy the complete PC, just some components, so I'm going to buy a Wi-Fi USB key.
